hey guys,

I know that there is a room for drag racing but this is strictly turbo related so I thought you guys could help me. I am up in Canada at an altitude of 3439 feet so my times will be a little slower than you guys (average 0.6 - 0.7 sec. slower), obviously cause there is less air up here. Anyways here it goes:

Boost 5.6 PSI 8.5 PSI

R/T .829 .677
60' 2.546 2.651
330 6.801 6.817
1/8 10.316 10.220
MPH 70.89 74.20
1000 13.338 13.084
1/4 15.865 15.479
MPH 89.26 93.58

I did 4 runs at 5 PSI and 1 run just for fun at 8.5 PSI. These were the first five runs I have done in my entire life, as seen by my 60' times. I was just wondering what tips people could give and anyone with a stage two setup could you post your times or for those of you in higher stages can you post your times when you were stage two if you can remember. I would like to see what kind of time I should be shooting for. I know with more practice I could get into the 14's at 8.5 PSI.

Thanks Alot (sorry about length),
Thomas

fully inflate your rear tires and put the front tires at low pressure. remove seats and useless shit, and run on a near-empty tank of fuel.

How are you launghing? At the line, bring the revs to around 3500-4000rpm. The point where it will not bog but will not spin to hell either. When you take off, slip the clutch, give it half throttle until it feels like it is going to hook up. Do the same in 2nd (half throttle till it hooks up, then nail it) Try that and see what it does for ya. I would not worry about lowering the tire pressure too much as it will not necessarily help. Rasing the rear does help keep weight transfer forward. Dumping weight will not help your 650' which is what you need to work on. Lots of practice will make a difference.

Thanks guys,

I am going out to the track again tonight. Evry Friday they have a thing here. It is really cold out today (55 F) so I dotn know if that will aid or slow my runs but I will be working on the launch. As far as the tire pressures go do you have any reccommended pressures?

I will let you know how it goes.

Thomas.

The cold air will really help a lot. As far as tires go, I have heard putting the fronts at like 20 - 25 psi will help to keep you from spinning and you will get better 60' times but it will slow you down in the top end. I also heard to put the rears at like 40-45 psi. I really have no idea if it really works or not because I have never done this.
