#80937, "The E-Manage is wierd"

Okay so I got around to installing my new injectors today. I have 440cc injectors in the car now. Not to bash the e-manage, I think its awesome. The car drives 1000x better now with the larger injectors. But youre supposed to simply put in the stock injector size, and then the new injector size. That was definately NOT the case. The only way I could get the car to idle/drive fine was to set the stock size to 227cc and the new injector size to 451cc. Anyone know why??? Like I said, the car runs great but its just wierd.

It might not have the maps for the injectors you had and just went with something relatively close. I'm just guessing...

what fuel pressure are you using, the emanage assumes that you will be using the same fuel pressure for the old and new injectors, but only to a certain extent. the correction is supposed to bring you near what you are supposed to be at fuel wise but there are so many factors in each persons setup that it will almost never be perfect the first time.

Im using a FMU with a 12:1 disk. The E-Manage was set to 0 across the board. Once I get the car on the dyno I wanted to make the FMU 1:1 and use the E-Manage for additional fuel emoji On another note, with the Injector harness, do you have to connect the ground to the injector ground or to any ground in the car? Thanks.

Well I just wanted to make sure that nothing was wrong with my setup.

You cant use the FMU at 1:1.
Get a real FPR.

Which FPR would you recommend?

Go with the Aeromotive 13109. A very nice unit.
Plus it will work perfectly for you when you decide to go with a real fuel system. emoji

Good luck with the eManage route... it has good potential, but I've yet to hear of anyone who got the itming control working on a 420A...
IT "should" be able to take care of your fuel needs.

I should have the car rewired for the E-Manage fully in a day or two. I know no one has yet gotten it work, but Im giving it a shot. Im also getting the car dyno tuned in a few, so hopefully that will take care of any problems.

Jamesman uses the emanage. You mean the timing control? I don't think anyone has that working. The emanage sends out ~+5vdc I believe, and our cars fire on ground. Perhaps greddy makes an adapter, or you could build something.

I have built an adapter for the ignition on the emanage. it should work theoretically. Problem is, when i first hooked up the e-manage to my car, I also hooked up the ignition harness not knowing that it would not work. well, in the end, i think i blew the ignition circuit in the emanage because no matter what, now I get no output from the emanage with respect to ignition. I hooked up my adapter and it all electrically checked out, just there was no signal coming from the e-manage to my home made adapter. It will be a while till i work it out due to my smog referee ticket. Actually, I may never work it out the way things are going so we'll see what happens.

How did you make the adaptor? Do you have any wiring schematics / parts that I would need? Or maybe you want to sell me yours hehe

What exactly did you do?
If you knew what you were doing you could make an IGBT circuit that could do it... but it would be a lot of work for something that still wouldnt be as good as many other units on the market... emoji
