#80624, "squeezin.. still not full potential"

Hey guys.. damn i still don't get it.. i still don't understand why when i squeeze at high gears (3rd sometimes, but mostly 4th) i seem to hit a wall at 5 1/2 rpm.. it's like it stays at that rpm.. and won't seem to climb till i let go of the button, after that it's fine i can hit redline.... do we run leaner or richer in higher gears? is the ecu preventin this or wat? that's not fuel cut right? think i need to lean/richen it out on the higher gears w/ an afc or something? iono.. i've had this problem since the beginning.. anybody? thanks guys..

from my limited understanding there seems to be a power "plateau" of sorts around that RPM level. Even boosting levels off or even dips a bit around that number. im not sure of the exact mechanical reasoning for it, but it seems to be somewhat common.
for you and nitrous, it could be the varience/limits of the gas temp, or the pressure of the bottle...

According to this website http://www.robietherobot.com/NitrousJetCalculator.htm the fuel jet you should use with a 43 nitrous jet is a 24 this means that you are running a little rich. Maybe it is the jets or maybe is just your clutch slipping.

43 and 24? hmmm.. doesn't that seem a lil too low of a fuel jet size for an 80shot?

You are running too rich, and bogging down in that spot of the power band. do you have a digital A/F gauge, to see whats happening fuel wise at that moment? if not, id suggest getting/building one if you intend to keep running nitrous or any other form of FI, and want your motor to last. Id bet you smoke black when you spray, that is, more than you should at least.
