i was wondering where you guys have your Vortech FPR's mounted? mine is mounted up at the same height as like the power steering resevoir and all the way on the passenger side of the car against the firewall (adjacent to passenger side strut tower). since this is on the opposite side of the engine bay as the stock FPR which it ties into, does this affect it's performance any? i'm beginning to think it does because the fuel lines are so long as a result of the distance from the stock FPR. i'm thinking this makes it harder for the Vortech FPR to raise fuel pressure and hold pressure. i guess i'm thinking along the lines of common physics or common sense if you will. if you blow water through a straw at a set rate it will flow out the other end. now if you tie say three straws together and blow at the same rate, water will maybe dribble out the end instead of flow. is my thinking correct?

I wanted mine as close to the return line as possible and the shortest fuel lines as possible. I initially put it where you see it in the pic but there was no room to mount it straight but now I have taken out of the windshield wiper fluid reservoir and mounted it straight then put the reservoir back in place. this way the lines are unobstructed and straight. I dont think long lines will affect performance much (its already has to come from the gas tank forward) as long as they arent kinked.

The Stock FPR on a 95 is on the passenger side
Mine is on the drivers side, shoved under my upper intercooler pipe out of sight, probably sideways and upside down, because it's ugly and blue and needs to be ostracized.
What leads you to these conclusions? I'm curious to see why you think this could be a problem.
As far as length, however, consider the % of length you are actually adding to the entire path. very little, when you consider the length coming from the back of the car, all the way to the fuel rail, then to the FMU..

so i guess it shouldn't make too much of a difference huh guys? Darkone, did you understand the analogy i made w/the straws? that was just kinda my thinking i guess. when i look at how long my lines are it seems pretty damn far. to go all the way through one line to the FPR, then all the way back down the other. seems to be quite a ways. i was mainly asking not in reference to performance so much as to question it's ability to hold pressure. when you turn the car off, what component is actually holding the pressure? the fuel pump? i'm having that problem where the car won't start right up after it's been sitting for awhile. but if i try and turn it on within minutes of turning it off, it fires right up. i know in the V-Faq it says that a damaged o-ring is the cause of this....but i've taken out my fuel pump several times and the o-ring is not split or cracked anywhere. so the only other fuel component i can look to is the FPR. i guess i'm just searching to figure out how to solve this problem.
two more questions for you fellas...... in the V-Faq it makes no mention of this part when installing the Walbro pump, but it diagrams this piece in the instructions that are provided w/the pump. there is a tube of some sort that is shaped something like this L 7 if you mesh the two horizontal lines (bottom of the L...top of the 7) that would be the general shape. sorta like an "H" w/the top right piece and bottom left piece missing. i hope you guys understand. i don't have a camera to take a picture of it. did you guys use this piece in your install? what is it?
second question...did the filter that came w/your pump resemble the original filter? the filter that came w/my pump is like a hybrid filter. basically it is two filters in one. instead of the filter snapping onto the fuel pump at one end of the bag, it snaps to the pump in the middle of like two bags that extend out left and right. is this the same filter you received?

Hey...I want my FPR in the safe engine bay..How'd you do that?????? Hmmm...well this means you gotta run a line from the tank to the FPR. Wouldn't it be nice to run a steel braided line from the tank to the FPR. ONe important question 1HOW THE HELL DO YOU STOP THE FUEL FROM LEAKING WHEN YOU TAKE OFF THE FPR??? THANKS

Well the stock FPR on a 95 is on the fuel rail, so it convieniently fits in the engine bay. There were two holes already drilled in the fire wall so I just mounted it there, supposedly for cruise control or something. Woohoo it does look pretty tight there all blue anodized!
