#80317, "Couple questions on Cartech fpr/vortech sfmu"
I know its been asked in the past before and i don't know if this is the right spot for it cause i am a newb, but obviously there are a lot of negative things written on the cartech fpr. The reason for the question is I think i read virtually every post on the cartech and vortech sfmu, but i haven't seen any recent ones (most being from 2001/2002) having to do w/the cartech quality. I wanna turbo my car after the winter and am wondering what experiences people who have put a HRC stage 1 or 2 on there car in the last year have had w/the cartech unit, has it been improved since all the negative posts or is it still horrible. To those that have order their kit without the cartech and got the vortech sfmu, is it any harder to install i'm hopin to do this install w/minimal assistance from a professional b/c its not so much in the budget. I'd appreciate any help thanx.

I have the cartech that is the new billet version that came with my stage 2 kit. I haven't had much luck with it. It doesn't keep fuel pressure constant, meaning like at idle the pressure would be 55 psi one time and at another time it might be 60 or 40 or what ever. It will also do the same thing under full boost.
I am switching to the Megasquirt soon, so will be getting rid of it and replacing it with the Aeromotive 1:1 regulator.

i must have gotten lucky with mine then i was going to replace it with an aeromotive because i had read so much bad stuff about it but so far if it aint broke dont fix it
i still have stock injectors though so i havent pushed boost past about 9 psi so that may be why the cartech hasnt messed up on me
since i am going to put in the hahn portfueler i didnt really worry about looking further into replacing fpr any time soon
