I removed my erg system when I boosted my engine, but it throws the check engine light. I read on here that could put a resistor (10 watt 100 Ohm) in the plug to get it to stop. The plug only has two wires going to it so I stuck it in both holes and I still had the code. Did I do something wrong? Help would be cool, thanks

I wouldn't worry about the CEL unless you have to pass an emission test. In that case if worst comes to worst just reinstall the EGR valve and reset your ECU, Take the test, drive home and yank it off again
I'm a bit worried that you said the 100ohm 10watt resistor didn't work. What year is your 2gnt?

he is a 95. You try just taking the egr pipe of itself and make block offs for the manfold and then on the main egr peice itself? Thats what i did on my 95 and it worked.

i think i will just pull the bulb then. it was just easier to put in the resistor. you just stick the wires in each pin hole right?
thanks, for the help.
ps i did read up on all this stuff and did a search, i was just confused why mine still didn't fix it. maybe i'm getting the insuficeant flow cell everytime.

Did you clear the code after you kept trying?? I know when my ex's car had a dirty sensor that threw a code and after i cleaned it the code wouldn't go away, i left the battery disconected and the car run enough to figure things out on its own. I actually had to throw my OBD-2 software at it and clear the code through my laptop

You're still going to fail if you pull the bulb. If they plug in the OBD scanner they are going to pull the CEL.
