Hey someone mentioned a turbo kit from the site below

http://www.turbocalculator.com/sale-turbokits.php

Does that look like a reasonable beginning to a custom turbo proj? $700 (shipping included) seems like a pretty good deal for a remanufactured turbo w/ WG + custom manifold. Anyone bought from this site? If so, how do you like your setup?

it looks okay. i assume you're talking about the top kit that lists the 420a motor, right? i think for the money you could do better. buy the time you buy all the other items needed to make your kit complete you will/would have spent close to the same thing for a complete kit. plus with a custom jobber, you will have more headaches than you want.

i think you could find a better beginner "kit" on ebay. do some shopping around.
EDIT: especialy since for that price the IC is not included. you can do better.

I was going to get that one but now that you mention it, thats the 4G63 flange right!?!?!?

It looks decent quality, and since Im running a Garrett T28 turbo from a silvia, its perfect. I hope someone can vouche for em.

edit:

It IS ssautochrome!! go to their site, same pic! And its the 4G63. crap.

ive heard alot of bad things about turbocalculator like they are impossible to contact..they take forever on delivering the parts etc etc..also ive heard lots of bad things bout the ss headers..also on another site a guy i talked with said that that specific manifold has been discontinued due to manufacturing problems..so be weary...i went with a custom log manifold.

Stone Racing is aka ssautochrome...period.

so if you go along with all of the horror stories etc we speak of, do not buy that kit with their manifold...or you could search, and find the answer for yourself to have a self-educated opinion emoji

These guys make a log style manifold for the 420a and you can get any turbo and wastegate flange you want(or no wastegate). As for getting a t3 turbo you have plenty of choices out there. You just have to look around.
