#79717, "no oil in the feed line"

i finished installing everything and i was trying to prime everything so i pulled off the spark plug wires and cranked it a few times. then i disconnected the feed line from the turbo to make sure it was giving oil, but when i took it off it was completly dry. i checked for kinks in the line and i have no idea why there is no oil going through, anyone have any idea whats up?

might want to crank it a few more times.

i simply remove the line, start the car and let the oil aim into a cup or something. the moment i have oil, i stop the car and hook it to the turbo. it only takes a few seconds for oil to come out with the car running.

if you dont want it to run then just pull the coil pack harness off the pack. you can leave the spark plugs in and leave the wires on the plugs.

if you want to do what i suggested, then just start the car

pull out the spark plug wires, but leave them connected to your coil pack.. Put the end really close the the valve cover, have someone crank the car, it should ark onto the valve cover. see if your getting spark from all 4

as for your no oil in the feed line... oil pump?

ok, well i got the car to start finnally, but the weird thing is that there doesnt seem to be oil going through the line. i shut it off as soon as it started up and then disconnected the coil pack and cranked it for 20-30sec to see if any oil came through, doesnt seem to, does this mean a problem with the pump? i wouldnt think so since it worked fine about 6 weeks ago when i shut her down to start putting the turbo on. any imput would be awsome, i have no idea what the problem is.

someone has to know somthing, anyone have any kind of problem like this before? i took off the T where the oil feed is attached and it doesnt seem to have any oil on it at all, this would suggest that no oil is traveling throughout my engine, correct? what would cause this, i assume the pump, is there any way to see if it is the pump? anyone have any insight please let me know. thanks

Is your oil pressure dummy light coming on as your trying to crank it over or after it fires up? If so, you gots no oil pressure. Do you have a oil pressure guage or have you considered buying one? I'd think its a good investment that will save your crank and rods. The assembly lube will only go so far if this is a fresh rebuild, if its not your probably scoring your crank journals and bearings b/c you have no oil pressure. STOP cranking if over if you have no oil pressure, your motor will thank you. Take off the oil pressure sending unit so the back of the motor has an uncovered hole then disconnect your injector harness and turn it over 3-4 times. (FYI, if you want to not start the motor disconnecting the coil pack is only going to get uncombusted fuel into your cylinders, disconnect your injector harness so it doesnt take 5 minutes to start your flooded car.)

400whp or bust.

well i had an incident similar to yours a couple of months back which resulted in my destroyed turbo. 1st thing you should check is if that line has a clog, take it out again, and blow throw it and feel the air at the other end. if it's good, then check the fittings from the back of the engine block. you must have something either clogged or not connected correctly there. there has to be oil pressure coming out of it. and when you do that test again, all you do is remove the fuel pump and asd relay right next of the brake master cylinder. you don't have to remove anything else. turn the engine 15 sec then wait 1 min, then try again. the oil should flow out after the 2nd turn. so check again, i'm sure that's the problem. i always do this after every oil change.

You got oil in the pan right?? haha..Did you mess with the oil pickup tube at all when you had the pan off? FYI- It can take 4-5 seconds for full oil pressure to build after the motor has been sitting for a long time, after a fresh rebuild, or even a simple oil/filter change. Just a few seconds may not have been long enough to get the oil pumped through the motor. I was never really able to get oil through the motor just by cranking it over..just wasn't enough RPM to pump the oil..Start it up again, and let it run for a good 5 seconds, NO MORE. That's plenty of time to get the oil moving..yet not enough to do any major engine damage if it's not.

no i wouldn't do that^^^if you crank the engine and it runs with no oil to that turbo, say goodbye to it. i wouldn't even risk 5 sec. this is the safest method in knowing if oil supplies to it. that turbo spins real high in RPM even at idle which can cook that bearing. that's why i always do this at every oil change, so it never runs dry. the engine cranks sufficient enough for the oil to flow. i've done this numerous times and i always see oil flow at least the most was the beginning of the 2nd try.

well i finnaly got it started with oil through the lines and everything. the problem turned out to be nothing at all, it just took alot of cranking to get the oil throughout the engine. everything is fine now except two things, my temp gauge was kinda freaking out and going below 0 and then past 0 a little and back below, not sure why that is, and also when i connect my battery the first little red bar lights up, even when the car is off why would it do this? it only goes off when i turn on the parking lights. thanks for all the help and let me know if u know anything about the gauges.

ok let me clear it up alittle, on the air/fuel gauge they have the little bars, a bunch of red ones for lean and yellow, and green, the first little red bar is always lit up when the battery is connected and im not sure why that is.

because its an autometer gauge. Dont worry about it. If it really bugs you double check your wiring and make sure everything is soldered ( not just wrapped around wires with electrical tape).

you have the power wire to a live 12v source. you have to wire it to an accesory 12v source or ignition 12v.
