ok i searched and found some stuff but i just wanted to hear people's opinions. im trying to take the rail off and put in 310's, i have the feed line off and now im trying to get the two bolts that hold the rail to the mani off. i saw that alot of people took off the upper mani or they took of the valve cover. which is better to do? and if i take off the upper mani do i need a new gasket, i know it would be better to put one in but do you need to? and did how can you get to the bolts without taking either off, i dont see a good way to get access to the two bolts. thanks for the help.

If you dont wanna take off the upper intake manny which taked like 5 minutes, jack up the front, get under the car and reach your hands up and over the upper inatke manny and on bolt the rail but its a bitch to get back in since you gotta push on it pretty hard to get the injectors back in due to the o-rings. Save yourself time and a hassle and a couple beers for later on the night by just taking the upper intake manny off, its easier in the long run bro.

yea sounds like the route im gunna go, how about the need of a new gasket? do i need one or if it doesnt look to bad can i just put it back on?

I changed out the injectors on my car with out removing the upper intake. The only things I removed was the coil and the throtle cable bracket.

The two bolts on the fuel rail are little hard to get to. But it was not as much work to me as removing the intake. I used a 1/4 inch ratchet to remove the bolts. I also found out it is easier to put the injectors in the intake then put the fuel rail on the injectors. Because it is a tight fit with the injectors on the fuel rail and you might run a risk of damaging the injector tips by scraping them on the intake.

It took me about 45 minutes two change them out.

If you do decide to take the upper intake manifold off, I would strongly recommend a new gasket. You most likely can't tell if the gasket is good enough, or if you've compromised the quality and it will give under boost (or vacuum).

You don't need to though. Take the coil off, the throttle cable off and the injector wiring harness off. Then get in there with a 1/4 rachet. Yes, it's a bit of a tight squeeze, but you can do it. Also, when there's no injectors in the intake mani and you go and try to put new ones in, don't forget to oil the O rings, and clean the areas where they are going in in the mani. You might want to plug the holes with something while they're out of the car.

nothing like driving with the windows down and the music low: i love hearing the turbo spool, swwwhhhttt!!!!

i just did mine a couple weeks ago. i removed the ic to tb pipe, abttery , and throttle linkage and it went ok. i dont know how BOOSTED did it in 45 mins though, it took me 4 1/2 hrs. lol.

ill make sure i report back when i do it, i hope to do it tomorrow afternoon, and i really hope it doesnt take me 4 1/2 hours. ill let you guys know.

ok, well ive been sick but i finnally got a chance to put them in and it only took me 30mins. i took off the coil pack, the throttle linkage, and the throttle body. my hands are pretty big but i found it to be pretty easy. once i unbolted the rail i took the injectors off and then took our the rail and cleaned it up. next i put the injectors into the manifold and put the rail back onto them. lastly bolted it up and connected them back up. it was alot easier than i thought it was going to be.
