#78931, "star turbo and mani replacement?"

is there any turbo manifolds and internal wastegate turbos that will bolt up using the star downpipe and IC piping and stuff? IE. just swap out the turbo and manifold from the star kit so it doesnt have an external wastegate?

Not to my knowledge. Why would you want to downgrade to an internal gate anyway?

Compare the exhaust side bolt pattern to your downpipe and the turbo you are thinking about. Most exhaust side housings are 3 or 4 bolt flange

If you have the Star downpipe there is no way you will find an internally gated turbo with a 5 bolt out flange. Most all of them will be 3 bolt.

well basically, i know it sounds stupid, but when i max out my psi, for what the wastegate is set at, the noise of it constantly releasing drives me crazy, it sounds like my engine is gonna kill itself.

So dump it back into the exhaust. Any muffler shop can do it.

its not going to effect anything will it, like when the engine moves or something, giving extra stress on it or something like that since its not a flex downpipe?

That sucks, no flex secton... I would just buy a new downpipe. It is a lot easier to work on a car when you can just unbolt the downpipe and move it (with a flex section) vs. taking the whole damn pipe off. I know it will cost a lot to buy new one, but you could upgrade and get a 3"

without a flex section that pipe will begine to crack in the future once it gets heated up enough times. Best advice it to have the wastegate dump welded into the exhaust and install a flex section.

The angle and location of the wastegate pipe into the downpipe will also make a difference. If you drop stright into the downpipe there will be stress when the pipes heat up and cracks will eventually occur. I would know mine did. If i can get my scanner to work i will post picts this early this week to show you how i made my 3" downpipe.
