The new matrix analyzer is awesome. Here's some data that I took today on my way back from lunch. This new feature makes it a lot easier to find out exactly where lean and rich spots are, since it averages data from multuple pulls automatically instead of just looking at one pull. I tweaked my 034EFI a bit, maybe the AFR will be a little more stable now. At least it was pretty close before, I never really used the software before because it was too much of a pain, I'd just look at the AFR display and watch the RPM's go up and think "eh looks like I need to tweak this number a tad" but now it's closer to a science. What I really need to do is sell this whole 8 injector thing and buy a MS so that I can be in closed loop all the time emoji

The software is avaiable here:

yeah but they would mark it up to MSRP which would probably be around the cost of the Zietronix. personally i like that better, just looks of the screen ect. But with this new software i will def be ordering the DIY kit possibly this week.

The tech edge unit is pretty sweet and its not that difficult to assemble the DIY kit. Hardest part is making sure all the resistors are in the right spot and even that isnt that hard but more time consuming. I'll be finishing up my cable soon and tossing it on my Reliant and seeing how close my Relentless Performance calibration is.

I'll also be using it to tune the MS on ForceFed420A's Eclipse in a few weeks when its done. emoji

Brian

PS ner947, how do you get the TEWBLOG to spit out the manifold pressure values in the correct units? does it have some sort of selection for different types of map sensors? thanks

That's pretty cool. But if you really want to impress me, make all these gadets into one nice little unit. Like, the 034 EFI with a built in wideband. Then all you have to do is tell it what your target AFR is and it'll make the adjustments for you. Take some of guess work out of it for dumbasses like me who just wanna go fast...but are avid DIYer's. Can it really be that hard? LOL emoji

Yeah, the WB02 is kind of a bitch to assemble, there are SO many resistors. Quite time consuming, but it's really easy because everything on the board (except U9, which is a digital-analog converter, it looks like a 8-SOIC package or something, this comes populated when you buy the DIY kit) are through hole components.

The WBO2 unit has a whole bunch of analog inputs - it has three 0-5 volt inputs, and three type K thermocouple inputs. It also accepts RPM. I took the MAP sensor from my 034EFI and tapped it. There was a spare pin on the 9 pin connector, so I hooked it up to that. I have the output of the 034EFI MAP sensor going to the first 0-5 volt analog signal input of the WB02. The MAP sensor in the 034EFI is a MPX4250AP, which is a very common MAP sensor for aftermarket stuff. Corbin uses it in his "fooling the S-AFC" mod. You have to make a simple text file that tells the software "X voltage means Y manifold pressure", it's a simple lookup table. I got the voltage/pressure values from the datasheet avaiable on Motorola's web site.

actually you can download many of those maps on their website.

for instance.. i log fuel pressure from my autometer gauge. they have a map downloadable for that.

Dude... I've been using the TechEdge unit for a ling time now, and promoting it to everyone that asks my advice on Widebands... emoji

The Techedge unit is basically the best wideband on the market today, as far as actual WB sensor circuitry and control goes.
The only WB better will be one coming soon from the MS guys... imagine that. emoji

I'd recommend anyone gets the TE.

And I do like the look of the new matrix ligging feature. Will make things more user friendly for a lot of people. I'll have to try that tomorrow.

Ha. I don't have ANY motovation. Tonight I was playing around with the simulated narrowband output for the WBO2 and was about 90% to hooking up the simulated output to the stock white/black wire to see if I could just run 1 oxygen sensor instead of 2 when I just said "screw it" and quit.

That's what I have.

The Simulated Narrowband output from the TechEdge drives both my Autometer blinky guage, and the stock PCM.
Works perfect.

You have to put a 1 K Ohm resisitor int he line to the stock pcm though if you want to drive more than just the pcm with the output.
This is because there is too much load fromt he stock pcm to drive both of these at the same time, unless you use a resisitor.

Won't the MS work with any wideband that you want to use though? Or do you have to buy it with the MS?
