So far so good. No leaks, and I still need to wire up the power for the electronic dump. I held it in the cig lighter and opened it up, gave it a little launch at a stop light. The car has never been so alive! I need to get it to the track, I'm going to see Ministry tonight so I won't be able to T&T until next wensday. emoji Here are the pics, Sorry about the shitty camera phone pics. You get the idea. emoji

This is the dump I'm using.

Oh man. I just opened the dump in the parking garage here at work and hit the studder box! BOOM! That was awsome. I think the valet kid shat himself! emoji

The damn 1200* paint is flaking off already. Looks like I have to spring $32 for 1lb of high temp powder. :/ I used a Chicago electric (shitty HF brand) MIG w/ CO2. I ran out of gas near the end so I finished it up with flux wire. The welds came out ok, the worst one is on the turbine flange to the reducer. That 2.5->3" reducer is super thin, and the flange is thick so I had a hard time with it. It's sealed up, but it looks kinda nasty, heh.

Yeah I would, but my exhaust is a custom 2.5 from there back. So I would need to fab one on a car with stock exhaust.

LOL! No, I've actually been slipping the clutch a lot. I'm not using the studder box, and I'm basically launching really slow. The car isn't getting it's stage5 axles/hubs until I breaks 110mph. With this downpipe I think I can do it. I trapped at 109mph last time I went to the track with the hahn 2.25" downpipe.

Speaking of axles (not to hijack this thread or anything), but what are the stock axles good for, power wise? I fully intend on making over 300 whp within the month... will the stock axles do it?

EXT:
Very nice looking my friend. How about some pics of it installed on the car?
As for you saying about your exhaust setup, just make one for the HRC owners with a 3 inch flange on the end and let them worry about the rest... I'm sure MANY people would buy it. emoji

Eclipse2NR:
The whole axle thing is weird, some people have snapped many axles at low HP numbers, other like myself are running high HP numbers, and have never broke any.
I think it comes down to a combination of suspension setup, clutch type, clutch use, Torque and Tire grip/type.

I think driveshaftshop axles are like $1000 for Stage 4 or 5... emoji

I'd rather just replace stock ones if they break... which they haven't yet emoji

If anyone really want's one I can make more I guess. But I only have the hahn kit to test fix to, and like someone said before you would have to have it finished and installed to your stock exhaust by a shop. But I could put in a manual dump or no dump at all. The electronic dump bolts directly to the manual dump.

Etx I was talking to Mike from exile about doing a similar setup but he said to pass an NHRA inspection the exhaust has to dump behind the passenger compartment to be legal. For most street legal drags do you have to pass an NHRA inspection?

Not around here at least. But honestly, all you need to do is bolt another pipe on the other side of the dump valve and route it back a little.

I just ordered the parts to build another one. I'm going to reinstall my AC compressor and try to find a stock downpipe to fit it up with. Anyone want to call dibs on it? It will be powder coated with high temp silver ceramic coating too.

I'd call dibs but I'll have to see how much money I have left over after my rebuild. I'm very interested though.

Cool, well first come first serve. I have all the parts in exept for 1 piece. I'm not going to build it until someone calls dibs and we can figure out how they want it built. I can put the dump up front like on mine, or I can put it further back for instepection but it will be less usefull.

I hope to hit the track today after work to make some runs with the dump open. I'm still sick so chances are I won't be able to drive for shit.
