Well, needless to say.. 5psi+Vortech FMU+stock inj/pump+HKS SuperAFR+eagle rods/wiseco 8.5:1 = Really frigging high EGT's. I just finished installing this DynoTune digital EGT... had to get the bung brazed on... seems to be holding pretty well. When I got on it this afternoon to establish some kind of a baseline... total rude awakening!!

Now... I have a 4:1 disk/plate for the FMU, and I have some Venom 550's which probably need professional cleaning/flow testing. No fuel pump, or the spare money to buy one.

I started off in the right direction this afternoon by replacing my BKR6E-11's with my last set of BKR7E's. (A shop had advised me that I should go back to stock heat range, so I got the 6's..but I think the gap is wayyyy too large..)

Now... would it be worthwhile, safe, "okay" to install either the FMU disk/plate, or the 550's before I have a fuel pump, or cash for tuning on a dyno? I'd like to do anything I can to help the motor out!!

One thing to consider, I installed the probe on cylinder 4, the tip is probably 3/4" away from the middle of runner.

Oh... the other/longer term option is to continue with this 8injector project... but I still need regulator, hoses/lines, few other odds and ends. (and I'll still need a pump)

you are def going lean with a stock pump and 4:1 disk. Get a new pump its only 100. and try either 8:1 or 12:1 with the stock injectors. If you go 550cc you may have a hard time getting it to idle good. 450's are tough as it is.

Get the pump for now and change out your 4:1 disk. do the 8 injector setup in the future or go MS

Would there be ANY benefit to throwing the disk in now?

Yeah I think this shop I used to go to must've ripped me off. They said the fuel pump sounded "loud" so they swapped in a stock one emoji

emoji

Of course I had no clue... didnt know any better etc etc.

But yeah I definitely just need to get a fuel pump... Thanks!!

isn't 12:1 on a 5 psi application a bit on the rich side...

I am running my SFMU 6:1 ratio (3.??" disk) and have a EGT signature of 14-1500 at WOT (depending on weather)with my RC 270CC on 5psi (more like 4psi with internals)

4:1 seems a little lean with stockers, and no external pump to assist with the high pressure.

Better shell out the $$$ if you wanna play.

do it right or dont do it at all..... you're playing with danger by not running an aftermarket fuel pump. Get it.

I think im gonna get a weaker spring for my Deltagate... boost is the problem...! EBC doesnt help me at all obviously

or maybe RMA the current one so I dont have to risk breaking the seal

if you want to dial down the boost just adjust the deltagate. You dont need another spring. 5psi spring is what comes in it from the factory, or have you changed it?
