I know someone with a 95 avenger that has the hrc stage 2 kit and I'm wondering if the kit is the same on his car as it is on the 95 eclipse. I know the motor is the same, but I don't know if the piping is different or not for the cars. B.T.W. If the kits are the same, I will be buying it Thanks fellas!

No, piping is not the same (well it is but they fit differently). I've spoke about this with Bill Hahn quite a few times. The front clip where the radiator sits on the avengers is about 5 inches farther from the engine than the eclipse (i.e. longer "nose"). This causes a front mount intercooler piping setup to be more towards the front of the car, than the rear.

If you have the fmic package, the instructions tells you to drill a large hole on the metal plate under the fuse box where the old air box would be. Problem is that because of the nose lenght difference, the piping will really be against the fuse box harness (BAD) and will require more cutting of the metal plate. And lotsa elbow grease as the piping from the FMIC to the turbo/throttle body is just short of not fitting.

For the SMIC though, it seems like it *will* work ok.

I had seen the piping for "both" (avenger and eclipse) and saw that the piping was exactly same. I didn't know it would fit differently though.

Nice clarification.

p.s. the talon's piping is the same as well.

Thanks for the replys fellas. I sent an e-mail to HRC asking the same question and they told me that the kits are exactly the same. The kit is with a smic also b.t.w.
