ok i think my W.G. is stuck open or partially open. i'm buildin boost only in higher rpms in the range of 4.5-5k. the car sounds like i have no exhaust when the motors under a load, but if i'm not on it, it sounds like normal. everything else is still normal like egts and fp aside from my gas milage starting to really suck. i checked the dp for cracks and everything from the catback looks good. is there a way to check if it is stuck open? and if i found that to be the case is it junk or could it be cleaned?

You probably have a boost leak.

would the boost leak make the exhaust sound terrible? like a lawnmower on steroids?? last time i had a boost leak the exhaust didn't sound any louder i just wasn't buildin any boost, that why i thought it may be something different this time.

Check the exhaust manifold for cracks and broken bolts before the turbine housing.

Wait till the engine is cold. Start the car and let it idle. Take a white piece of paper and work it around the seam between the exhaust manifold and the head. If there is any type of leak, the paper will turn black/discolor. Once the engine warms up, you can sometimes hide the leak when the gasket expands. If you are driving, the exhaust shifting (downpipe)might be causing more of a leak. When you are at WOT under boost, the noise of your wastegate dumping exhaust gas is masking the sound of the leak.

Of course you want to check all the bolts in the gate/manifold/turbo exhaust housing.

If your gate ends up being the problem, definitely go Tial.
