has anyone noticed the complete spool RPM of their turbo after adding cams? My 20g used to be completed spooled at 37 to 3800 RPM. The last dyno showed that it wasn't completed spooled till 4500rpm and we couldn't figure out why. Also, I have a neon tranny, so Im not sure if that effects it either.
If its not the cams, could anyone suggest another reason? I did find a boost leak, but i was able to build boost. Maybe it was just coming up late because of the leak.

Both the boost leak and the cams could contribute to it. Cams can do a lot depending on the grind you have, but it's doubtful that it's causing you to loose that much spool. Do a pressure test to see how bad your leak is.

Well, if anything, steeper gearing should make it spool at a lower RPM. A boost leak or an exhaust leak will do nasty things to spool, though. Cams could be the culpret, especially if there is more overlap.

im pretty sure it was the leaking 90 degree elbow thats actually hooked to the turbo housing that runs into the piping that goes to the intercooler. there was a small crack in it. wont know till i get back on the dyno
