I originally installed a star stage II kit on my car with plans of rebuilding the engine. I have now decided to keep the car as an everyday driver and leave the engine as is. I would like to swap out the turbo for a smaller one that would be better for everyday driving. Does anyone have any recommendation for what would swap into my existing manifold/piping? Also, if someone has one of turbos that would swap into my setup and would like to trade with me let me know. The turbo that I have on the car is a T3/T04E. Thanks for your help.

You can get a ball bearinng one which is alot of $$$$ or I heard you can switch out the hot side blade for a A/R .48 one instead of the .63 but that'll sacrifice your top end. OR go with supporting mods like a bigger T/B, bigger DP, 3" exhaust. Just do what everyone else does - rebuild and up the boost.

Swap a straight t3 in there, it will bolt to the manifold and you'll need to do a few minor changes w/ the ic piping. A t3 will spool WAY faster than your current setup.

The whole purpose of a t3/t4 hybrid is to get the t3 spool with t4 compression. a straight t3 wont spool fast if the turbine is the same size. it will push less air efficiently depending on the turbo. Now if your thinking the smaller compressor wheel will allow the turbo to spool faster i can see that but dont think it will make a big difference.
Where are you reaching boost at? i have a t3/t4b trim v and a 63 turbine side. I hit boost at 2800rpms.
like said above you can go to a 48 turbine housing...they are on ebay all day long. but you will loose top end. Clipping the turbo might reduce the effects of top end loss if you desire to go that route.
Larger DP will help, so will a 3" cat and exhaust. what do you have for exhaust, i hope not stock.
Now another thing to consider..if you want the turbo to spool too fast...meanign it produces too much air for the engine you will get compressor surge...then mr blunt is correct you will need to downsize the compressor side to alleviate that.
Look up majestic turbo in your browser...they are in Waco texas and very informative. I would discuss it with them, they can also upgrade or downgrade your turbo to your needs.

2800 doesn't sound bad at all for boost, but mine is starting to build around 3500 rpms, higher than that in first gear. This is with a 2.5" exhaust and high flow cat.
Whats the difference between the B and E model that could cause so much lag.
