What's up fellas? I'm thinking of getting the Star Stage 1 kit. I think it's time I got some boost in my ride. Here's the prob. I'm running a 50 shot now, and truthfully, I don't want to lose it either. I guess I want too much, but I love to spray, but I want boost too. Can this be done??? I have plenty of bolt ons, but I'm running stock internals, and my motor is in great shape. Can this motor handle the small amount of boost I want to put in, and still take the spray??? What if I went down in shot size? Like 35? Just curious. Any of you guys running both?

Your pushing your stock motor if you do both.

I'd be prepared to do a rebuild if you do that route.

why not just ditch teh nitrous and build teh motor and run more boost...it's allways there when you want it unlike nitrous.

Nitrous oxide cools the intake charge, a lot. THINK before you speak.

You won't necessarily blow the engine with a Star stage 1 and a 35 or 50 shot. You might, then again you might not. It's like these guys around here that are running 10 PSI on a stock bottom end for years. Sooner or later it's bound to blow up though.

I say sell the nitrous kit and invest in other mods that'll let you up the boost... or maybe a clutch, which you'll need soon.

Also, try not to listen to some members around here that'll try to tell you something they know nothing about.

yes i know it cools the intake charge but how smart do you honestly think it is to spray a 35 or 50 shot on a stock bottom end while boosting when the car isnt even intercooled? i dont think the nitrous would cool enough to be safe on the engine. i could be wrong and if i am then ill be the first to admit it cause im not sitting here trying to say i know it all. as for people runnin 10 psi and it lasting for years, thats only a handful of people. there are more people who have had their engines blow running smaller amounts of boost than there are people who boost 10psi daily on the stock bottom end without any ill effects. no matter how much the nitrous may cool the intake charge, i really doubt it will be enough to offset the added stress that it created on the engine on top of whatever amount of boost this guy chooses to run.

i say do it...think about it...the reason stage 1 can't go over 5-6psi is because of heat...now say add a 35 shot which will cool the intake charge dramatically thus cooling off a lot of the turbo heat, but also leaning out the mix, now add a nice fuel setup to compensate i think it would work.

Damn, I didn't think I was gonna cause a debate. Truthfully, I would consider losing the juice, assuming the boost was gonna make up for it. Honestly, which kit should I get.(star vs. hahn) I'm willing to spend about $3,000 if need be, but obviously would wantto spend less. Let's say I run about 10PSI, is it going to give me around the same pickup as spraying. Before I get flamed, I know spraying gives instant boost, but if the turbo is going to give me similar results than hell I'll just eBay the damn NOS kit. BUT, if I can run both... :-] Let's say I build up the bottom end, or hell the whole motor. Which parts do you guys recommend for making the motor beefier. What r you running?

~shrug~ I just figured it'd be wiser to start off with just one form of forced induction unless he knows what he's doing pretty well. Instead of trying to deal with tuning and what not..I know damn well I dont know everything.I was just factoring in other shit like clutch bottom end. His car period.
