Okay maybe there is already a post on this I dont have much time to look it up. I found a 1G Talon Turbo for $500, Im planning on making my custom turbo kit I want to make sure that I get everything I need off the car before I scrap it. The car is JUNK, rollover and no wheels, but the motor and turbosystem are fine and intact. No shaft play in the turbo (TD04) the wastegate looks like it might have seen better days (slightly rusted). Heres my list anybody add to it if you see anything Ive missed.
Fuel Pump,Fuel Injectors, Exh. Manifold (I know it wont fit but did I mention CUSTOM), Turbo, Oil feed & return lines, Brackets, Hoses, BOV, Intercooler and brackets, Possibly the downpipe, O2 sensor, ECU (why I dont want to find out later), Vacuum Lines, TB ???..... I want to be sure I get everything because I have to strip the car while its on the trailer then take it to the crusher.... any help ASAP This is all happening on Saturday the 4th before the crusher closes...I have to rent a trailer to puth the car on (It has no wheels) Should I take the engine to possibly sell???????
TIA, Hoffs

Man I need to update my pics

I think you are going to find very little on the car of any use. I suppose you could make the turbo and BOV work. The turbo may need rebuilding if its been sitting forever. I wouldn't bother with the injectors, who knows what shape they are in. The fuel pump probably won't provide enough fuel at high pressures (this is only an issue if you use small injectors with a high gain FPR). The intercooler could be used, but may be too small for what you want. However, I would grab everything you can and try to sell it. You can always throw stuff away if it doesn't sell.

Its been sitting for about 4-6 months, supposedly it ran fine when it came in. Battery is dead and they couldn't locate the key. It only has 90k miles. The engine is clean and the oil didnt smell burnt, the antifreeze didn't look to sludged up. I can only assume that the owner took relatively good care of it, (until the rollover). The turbo might be on the small side but it will do for now..... I really wanna make this work. I checked the turbine and it spins freely, no excess oil, no shft play at all.... What else should I grab of any value??? Atleast that will be worth my time.... I dont know if I will have enough time to pull the engine (to sell).... These are really hard to find around here that somebody hasnt been parted out..... I wanna construct an "entry level" system that I can build from, and I think that I can get a good chunk of my system from this one....

grab the side mount IC. They are much more efficient than the 2G models. I have one to get me by, but I'm looking into a FMIC.

Shit is all apart. Typical...

Like was said above... the turbo might be usable (although not really worthwhile), and the BOV could be adapted to work. Other then that, you are limited to things like vacuum lines and windshield wipers. I suppose if you feel like using a FTT (Fucking Tiny Turbo), the FTIC would work alright.

Oh yeah... If you have thoughts about modifying the 4G63 manifold, I would recommend against it. Cast iron is a bitch to weld... especially if you don't have a super-hot oven and high nickle consumable. It just isn't worth the hassle.

What you have right there is a good little chunk of change. If you parted that thing out you could get more than enough to put your project into motion. I dont know if you know much about the 4g63 community but EVERYONE with a 2g is looking for a 1g motor b/c of crankwalk. Hell, the 14b is probably one of the most underrated turbos that people upgrade. Many dsmer's have boosted into 12s with it. Its an extremely common upgrade for 2g guys from the t25. If it were me i'd pull the engine, tranny, ecu and anything else i could and part it out. 500 could easily be made back, easily. If you were to keep anything i'd only keep the turbo, if its in good shape, the sidemount, the bov (good for 20+psi), and the injectors if you would have them flow tested and cleaned. You could easily make over a grand on those parts if you put them up on the trader or a local dsm forum. Take that grand and be on your way, thats a real nice external wastegate, nice blow off valve and new evo III 16g right there.

400whp or bust.
