#75292, "boost presure drops?"

So when I accelerate from say 3500 rpm to 5000 I see about about 7 psi. After 5000 rpm it drops back to about 4 or 5 psi. I've checked my intercooler piping like 10 times and its ok. I've also checked the line that runs to the boost gauge and it seems ok ( I don't know how to check it when I'm under boost though). I also removed the air filter and boosted it to see if it was dirty, but I got the same results. What else should I try? My exhaust is HRC 2.5" dp to stock dp to 2.5" test pipe (no cat), resonator, to reactive muffler. Could the stock pipe from the resonator to the muffler cause this? I need to jack the car up and make sure of that pipes size. Any info on this would be great as I couldn't find anything in the search.

Thanks,

Chris

Yeah screw that!! I'm not capping off the wg. I've also heard a few other people say they had this problem with HRC stage 2. One of them said he used a manual boost controller and it stopped. Maybe I'll try that. Anyone else have any ideas for us.

check your exhaust manifold for leaks.

I thought of that too ^^^ it didn't help either. Everything was tight and I don't have any vac leaks, I'm pulling 18-20 hg. This seems to happen to alot of HRC users. Bill if you read this post pass along some info please. Any other ideas guys, I'm totally stumped.

just because it looks like its not leaking and everything is tight, doesn't mean its not leaking. do you see any black shit around the exhaust manifold

I got some black stuff around my downpipe to turbo connection. I am also leaking from any boost set(15-17) to 10 or 11 psi. It always drops to 10-11psi, redid vacuum lines. I do have that little exhaust leak, could that be it. It has been like that for awhile and before i did not leak so it must be something i am overlooking.

Nah siu it's clean as a pin. I just can't make any sense of it. The only thing I have left to try is checking the wg actuator arm.
