Well It finailly happened. I got beat (not by much) Fisrt race was aginst a civic hatch (b-16 fully built, rods, cams, gears etc..) I lost by about 1/2 a car. 2nd race was a tegra type-r. His only mod (that he'd admit) was a preformance ecu. He got me by 1 car. And both of these racer were in about 5 min of each other. I was pissed. But I am still very pleased with the turbo, since everything else is stock. I know there is tons more potential there. just though i'd share

It was acutally an ls with a type-r motor and modified ecu. But since everyone out there likes to pretend that their running stock it's hard to know for sure.
I like you hood. Is it a problem when it rains? With water hitting the hot engine? Cause i'm thinking of getting a vented hood to get rid of some of that hot a$$ air from the engine bay.

man fuck that tegra...he HAD to spray or have mods to kick your ass. Chris (klipz) and i raced a tegra type r with drag exhaust setup and he had 1 person in the car...we have Chris and I. Ofcourse he beat us but not as bad as i thought. now since you being turbo and the ls only had a tegra motor and ecu chip...then you should have handed it to him...he has more mods than he is saying.

why would he have to be squeezin? did you misread and think he said GSR? i'm not starting anything at all so don't take it the wrong way but have you driven an ITR? i have the star stage II and an ITR with a modified ecu would put us in a bodybag. unless of course we were running high boost. i have a friend with an ITR and he pulls on not only me but my other buddy with a highly modded GSX. and he's not squeezin, just fully bolted. if the guy he raced has like a JUN ECU or a Toda...JESUS! that thing would move. ITR's would catch us in the higher gears and especially in the high rpm's. V-Tech on those is so impressive, sounds awesome! i guess i just don't understand where you're coming from.

okay...i'm calling bull$#^*. klipzracer, no disrepect to you or talon but the only way you were within 4 cars of that ITR was if he had the A/C blairing, stereo pumping, all four of his fat girlfriends piled in the ride, and was on a mission to never exceed 4,000 rpm's. i mean come on, are you being serious? on your site you list an iceman intake, high flow cat, and exhaust PERIOD! oh yeah, plugs and wires. and you are trying to say you were hanging with an ITR. that's just a ridiculous thing to say. others can contest to the stature of an ITR. i'm not saying it's the greatest car made but anyone who says it ain't worth a damn is just talking out of their ass. fully bolted ITR's and fully bolted V-Tech Preludes (1995) can hang with turbo'd cars easily. and if you're not decently modded and running some decent boost numbers they will hand it to you. it's perfectly fine to be in love with our cars, but sometimes i feel like people on this board just lose all grip of reality. it's one thing to feel your car is the best, it's another to think all others are P.O.S. i think it's necessary to remain grounded. the turbo kits for our cars were designed to help us hang with these other vehicles, and provide the potential to blow them away. do not think by simply adding the stage II hahn or star kit you will be out there handing it to everything on the road. if that is the case with your car then you aren't going up against any reputable cars. the turbo is an avenue to some high HP numbers. it isn't an out of this world mod that will have you instantly spanking Vipers and McLaren F-1's. (exaggeration )

That turbo kit looks really good!!! REALLY REALLY GOO WHO CARES that you lost. You'r not going to beat everyone on the road. I dont see why people think a type R has to be sqeezing to win. 14.7 @97 stock. It doesn't sound unfeasable for one to win with 195hp+whatever else he's done+2650lbs, short gearing, 8000+redline limited slip all standard (no telling what the combo on an ls with a type R swap. just and ecu with a ls/type r swap, not very likely but who knows). Anything can happen with an imperfect race. Maybe type R boy was just having one of those days where everything goes right. Then again losing to TWO hondas in a 5 minute span is bad, terrible, shameful, horrific, depressing and most of all unusual for a turbo car to say the least (at the track it might be a little different).

Yea that was a cai on the turbo I got bored one day. But it made the car slower???? So I changed it back to normal. I was running about 8 psi that night. Thats as high as i really want to go right now. But I was'nt too disturbed about the losses, since the only people out there that will race me now are guys with lots of money in their engine. I just don't see the point in lieing about what ya got under the hood, as most of them do. So it's all good. I'm planning on getting some 100 octain gas for next saturday}>
Talon: I'm very sure the Teg had more than he was admitting. Since a friend of mine(civic) beat a Teg type-r that had a clutch and a header by about 2-3 cars. And I have be my friends civic by about 1-2 cars. The cool part is my brother went to one of the local parts shops here and a guy i know there was telling him all the honda guys are comming in talking about a fast black eclipse that been comming out to the races. That a plus for the ego:-)

ok let me clarify...i didnt say HAD TO BE SQUEAZING...what i said was he EITHER had to be sqeazing or MAJOR FUCKING MODS. i dont know what you consider FULLY BOLTED but what that means to me is MAJOR FUCKING MODS. and believe it or not we did stay within about 4 car lenghts...we didnt redline it in 5th...we were on the interstate adn after he got ahead he would slow down as would we...but he was fully stock except for a drag exhaust. i know that the itr are VERY fast but i wouldnt say that it would hook up and hang with a fully modded GSX. i have ridden in a type r with some mods and a blower on it and YEAH THEY ARE FAST but i dont think they can hook up and run with a GSX with approx the same amount of money invested. maybe i am totally wrong and maybe the ride i was givin in the teg was a shitty ride but it plastered my ass in the seat.
oh well just saying sorry you got beat man as far as the statement i made about you should have handed it to him...i think that if he only had the teg typr r motor and an ecu chip you should have either walked him or at least hung with him. i dont mean anything like 20 car lengths ahead and i know that having a turbo kit doesnt "Magically" make us an F1...thats just stupid.

alright klipz...my first comment was "no disrespect" cuz i was trying to offend you so don't come off at me like you're all pissed or something. secondly, i'm entitled to my opinion. and pure hp figures and facts conclude that there is no goddamn way in hell an ITR was "barely" pulling on you like you say with the mods you have. unless he was half ass driving to $*&# around. that is just what i believe (and i'd stake my car on it). secondly, i don't doubt "sleeper" beat an ITR with 5lbs but i think (personally) that it must not have been very modded and it was pretty damn close. and talon, just an FYI...when someone says "fully-bolted" they are refering to the basic "bolt-on" mods. in other words if a car is fully bolted it has intake, header, and exhaust. so in response to your post, no--fully bolted does not mean "heavily modded". and yes, i will say again. V-Tech Preludes (95) and ITR's that are bolted will hang convincingly with turbo cars. i'm running stage II star and my buddies bolted ITR pulls on me under power pretty convincingly. and for a final reiteration, the guy he raced admitted to a modded ECU. (once again no disrespect) but do you have knowledge with modding imports, and engine performance. do you have any clue who Toda and JUN are? do you understand what one of their ECU's is capabable of doing for the performance of a honda engine. i mean they are the leading specialists in the world on hondas. i'm telling you right now, if i had an ITR with one of those ECU's i'd race one of our cars that was only running 5lbs of boost for PINK SLIPS! listen to the people who know, the ones who have been on this board, have been turbo'd for some time, and who are some of the most knowledgable on here. I.E. Seriously I will say this, a JUN GSR with everything else stock can't beat a turboed Eclipse at 7 pounds INTERCOOLED but a bolted GS-R/JUN ECU is about a 5.5s 60mph runner and usually faster. That can surely beat a DSM with 5 pounds. An NT with 15 pounds and we're talking about another story, that would be a good race though

I have to disagree about the statement saying a Turbo RS/GS boosting 5psi cant take a stock Type-R. Lets compare times, shall we. The most often quoted stock 1/4 mile times for a Type-R have been 14.7 @ 93mph. We have a guy on this board with a stage 1 Star kit boosting 3psi running 14.9's at almost 94mph. With better 60fts he'd be in the 14.7 second range. A friend of mine with a Star Stage II running 4psi ran a 14.6 @ 96mph with high 2.2 60ft times and a slipping stock clutch with 77k miles. I believe a turbo RS/GS running 5psi with a good driver can take a stock Type-R. Period. I myself with 5psi will be shooting for a 14 flat. I'm confident that I'll do that, or better.
