#74349, "DSM injectors and injector bosses"

I had thought that dsm injectors fit into the factory rail, as well as the bosses, I got 450cc injectors and a fuel rail, the injectors are in the rail, but the injectors did not come with o-rings for the tip. My first question is can I get any o-ring that fits, also if I do get an o-ring there isn't anything holding it to the injector, am I missing the tips? I just need to get dsm injectors into the injector bosses sold for the 8-injector setup. Any ideas?

I will have to go do that, it seems like the tip of the injectors is missing something. On the stock injectors there is the tip, the there is the o-ring which is held in place by a little plastic washer on the other end. These DSM injectors I have have no lip, just a tip, if I slide the o-ring on there is nothing holding it in place. Is this normal, will they stay in the injector bosses well enough once my fuel rail is tightned down? I just basically need to know if the 450cc dsm injector tips are like our factory injectors, or if they are different. Also when doing the 8-injector setup, how far in should the bosses pertrude into the manifold? It seems like there is about a half an inch between the end of the injector, and the end of the injector bosses, is this how it should be? How far in are they supposed to go, or does it not really matter since there is high air velocity?

Any way to get a picture? It sounds like you are missing some parts. The o-ring should be captured by a groove.

I can't get pics, but that is what I thought too, I figured there should be something holding that o-ring in. Anyone know where I could track those tips down?

You can see a picture of the dsm injectors here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7912254328&category=33554 these are exactly how the ones I have look. Has anyone fit these in the stock bosses, and does anyone know how to fit them into the injector bosses corbin sells? I know someone on here has used dsm injectors.

I don't think that will work with the bosses, unless you modify the tips. There has got to be something to hold the o-ring. Otherwise, vacuum will pull the ring right off the injector. As for your next step...I don't know.

I searched some on dsmtuners and saw that these injectors have insulators which fit at the tip, and supposedly they are press fit imnto the head or something. I think I might just try to find a set of stock injectors or something, thanks.
