#74199, "Where to get a better cone filter?"

Okay this may seem like a stupid question but I can't seem to find much info. on where to get these. I am using the tube that came with my HRC kit and I need a new cone filter. I heard the new Air Hogs are good but I can't seem to find them that have like a lip to it to put a clam or anything around em to make sure they stay on. The tube diameter is 1 1/2in. and I have a 3 to 1 1/2in. rubber sleave reducer. So all I need to really find a cone filter with a 3in. lip to put the sleave over. I just need to make sure it isn't bigger then 5in. around and 6in. high. Can you guys help me out in locating a new filter or possibly just a new intake for the HRC turbo kit? Thanks in advance.

You can order a new one directly from Hahn, or go the K&N section in Pepboys or AutoZ or something and get one the right size. You'll never find anything that fits in the ricer sections of the those stores. Unfortunately, they're expensive .... oh well.

I already have and all they have is like a factory replacement one that doesn't have like a lip to it where I can fit a rubber sleave over.

So instead of looking like this VVVVV

They look like the middle small round one with no lip VVVVV

there was a link somewhere to a site that did cleaning tests on different filters.. the apexi is the best, k&n was the second best.. i dont remember the rest.

dont use an autozone cone filter. they dont offer any protection.

Go to K&N's website, find teh part number for the filter you need and go to AutoZOne and have them order that part number. They should be able to get it.
