ok i rewired the fuel pump to the relay and from the battery just like it said the problem is i hear the relay kick but the fuel pump doesnt prime it has to either be a bad realy or not wired right. heres how it goes. 12 gauge wire from battery to relay 86 in / fuel pump wire from harnes into 87 / fuel pump wire from pump to 85 out / ground from 30 to the body frame. i tried switching wires around and my ground i read dirctions from armonds site and corbins here as well. any info would be great!!

Your wiring sounds correct as I remember it. Did you reverse the positives and negatives on the pump? If not, take the pump off and run a small charge through it with a 9V battery and test it with a voltmeter. That should tell whether the pump is bad or not. Is the FP new or used?

the fuel pump works as im driving the car now. i have had the same fp in for a while. i disconnected it hooked up the relay and nothing. so i unhooked the relay and reconnected the fp wires together and it works again so im not sur whats wrong maybe a bad relay or bad ground for the relay.

Wire your relay like this:
85-ground 86-black/blue wire at stock harness for stock pump(positve wire for the fuel pump, you need to cut this wire in half, and the car side goes to this relay pin) 87-High current 12volt positive feed from battery(be sure to fuse this at the battery also) 30- 12v positive feed out to the fuel pump positive wire(fuel pump side of the cut wire)

no...30 is from the battery which is the big gauge wire, and 87 is the power wire to the pump. if the pump is not priming, it could either mean: 1. your fuse is blown. 2. you have 30 and 87 mixed up,(not 87a). since you said you hear the click, that means your 86 and 85 are hooked up correctly, but no power is flowing through 30 to 87, check your connections again.

In a 4 wire configuration(not using 87a) it does NOT matter which you use for 87 or 30. These are the Normally open contacts in the relay, and they connect together when the relay is activated by it's coil(85/86). I use 12v relays everyday at my work, and can wire one to do damn near anything in a car
