Ok so I just put a star stage 1 kit on my car today. Talk about suck ass instructions. Anyway I have a 1996 Talon and I can not figure out for the life of me where in the hell the fmu goes. I dont have a pressure regulator at the rail I dont have one at the tank so where the F*** does it go. Also what exactly will not having it on the car do. I know I shouldnt have done this but I had to run it some. At first it ran very well blew a few hoses off fixed those and now its running like ass. I got a nice CEL which was sold most of the time but then started blinking 4 blinks then sold then 4 blinks. I also get a loopy idle some missing/back firing during acceleration. I also think I may have toasted my head gasket because I am leaking oil down the back side of the block. I cant tell if its coming from the head but its on the back passenger corner and its leaking pretty good. I guess I will have to get a compression gauge tomorrow and test the cylenders. These may all be stupid questions to some of you but I searched for a long time trying to answer them and I couldnt find anything. Any help will be great.

dood you installed the turbo kit witout putting ther FMU on. (Shaking head) you have a regulator right on the fuel filter. Yes you do go look at it. If you damaged the engien its your own fault. why would you run the car without at least asking why you cant find a regulator. You probaly leaned out and have a crap load of codes now. unhook the battery for 15 mins and reconnect it, that should clear your codes (according to Dino). get the regulator installed and test drive the car. wait to see if any codes come back. if the light comes back on go to autozone and get the codes, post them here.
I will save the rant i so wish to post.

Ok man you need to hook up the FMU between your return line. Simple as that. look on your fuel rail(driver side). You will have a couple of fuel lines on there. The TOP one is the return line, if i rember correctly the lower one has a couple of screws holding it in. Put your FMU IN comming from that top(return) line, and the OUT going to the tank. Don't forget to hook the boost/vac source line. Im not sure on the 96, but my 95 is set up like this. If you don't have a return line like my 95 does then I don't know what to tell you. FYI you more than likely already blew your motor.

Sounds to me like you blew your motor too. Hopefully you have the know-how to take your head off and replace the gasket. It's not that hard, but it's time consuming. You might as well start collecting parts. Your going to need a head gasket kit, a timing belt and associated idelers, probably new head bolts, and some torque wrenches if you don't have any. Have fun
