#73249, "Fuel injectors and fuel setup"

I have a built bottom end and hrc 2 kit with a sfmu. If I get 440cc injectors and get rid of the inline fuel pump and get a walbro 255 what should I set my idle and static pressure at? Will my car idle fine with 440's? The most I want to boost is 15psi are 440's to much or should I get 400cc?? Thanks in advanced to anyone who answers emoji

440's will require an SAFC. Static pressure start at 20psi. I have seen the 450cc injectors setup with 20psi and -11 pulled on the SAFC.

I have heard of lots of people here running 440's with just a sfmu and the fuel pressure was like 12psi at idle. The thing is I dont want to have a crappy idle and dont want to get horrible gas milelage and was wondering if 440's are overkill for 15psi and 10psi daily. What would be the best size for 10psi daily and 15psi at track.

at 12 psi you may have a crappy idle.....that might now produce a even spray pattern. Only way to find out is to bench test the injectors at 12psi.

well what would be the best size for 10psi daily and 15psi of boost at the track? I want a good idle and dont want to get a safc.

you can try 310cc injectors but i dont think you will be able to run to 15psi. you might but i think you might lean out.

All you can do is tune it for 10psi. then slowly rais the boost and datalogg the a/f ratio. You may be able to get better results from the SFMU with the boost bleed valve. must buy from vortech. you may find yourself leaning out with the 2.72 disc and need to go to the 3.62. only problem is the 3.62 will probably be to rich and thats where the bleed valve comes in.

need to find someone running the 310cc injectors or do a search for a more concrete answer.

Nah, get the 440's at least. Or build an 8 injector setup. I get like 28 mpg and can run 22 psi of boost. My stock injectors are in the stock location controlled by the stock ecu. Doesn't get much better than that for gas mileage.

edit:
F the SAFC, you don't need it. It's a real POS anyways.

How much are you boosting daily? Does it idle good with that low of fuel pressure at 10psi?

i agree, 8-injectors is the way to go. you don't have too much worries getting crappy fuel pressures, and you keep excellent fuel mileage.when using the SAFC it messes with the MAP signals giving you too much timing advance which leads to detonation. that's why i ditched the SFMU and SAFC. garbage! the thing is...you have to be good at slight fabrication if you wanna take that route. other than that, if you wanna stay SFMU, you can run 440cc's fine w/o SAFC. your fuel pressures are going to be kinda low. you have to play with the pressures till you get idling correctly.
