Okay, I tried to use the search, but I kept getting "page can not be displayed" message.
Here's the problem I have a Stage II Hahn kit with the FMIC for the 420A aplication. I have cut the bumper as the direction said and I still can not fit the bumper on over the intercooler. The problem seems to be with the intercooler piping being in the way of the slot (drivers side) where the bumper slides in.
Has anyone esle run into this? It is my belief that Hahn, for liability issues, says that it will fit but it actually won't.
Also I was wondering what clutch most of you 2gnt turboed are using and what you might recommend? I have had trouble finding a good one for the non-turboed (420A) 95-99 eclipse.

It sounds like a problem with your piping not the intercooler. Who made your piping?

a little work, but it fit.

We use the HRC front mounts on our Avenger kits. The front supports are the same. The upper pipe should come out and shoot right in the middle of the outer bumper support, letting the 5 mph bumper slide over it. Then the front bumper over that.

Can you take some picturs of what you are having problems with?

All I can say is that my Hahn FMIC and supplied piping fit like a dream. (BTW, that isnt a 4G63, it's the V6 from the avenger. I really have to take a picture and show you, but I cut the bumper to fit around the IC. It would fit too, but the prongs that slide into the frame of the vehicle is what is actually getting in the way. It is like the pipes/IC outlet and the prongs meet in the same place (where the opening of the hole where the bumper arm would slide into the body of the car is).

I didn't use the front bumper support. I did have to cut a bit from the center area so that it would not be pushing against the FMIC. Other than that I did not have to do any modifications for it to fit. There is an IC pipe that connects to the FMIC through where the old bumper support mounts to.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that too. I didn't reinstall the 5mph bumper. I was afraid that doing so would let the front clip sag a bit but it mounted (after being cut back an inch all around in the big air dam) right up and looked stock again...minus the intercooler fins.

I checked on this and the rounded side was down, flat side up, and I am sure that the IC was bolted in the proper holes. I am starting to think that it might some how be the piping. I suspect that Hahn might have sent me what ever piping that they had in stock that they though would still fit fine for my aplication, but it was actually made for a different kit. Or maybe an honest mix up. I guess that it is at least giving me some weight reduction! I am just worried that if I hit something w/ my car that the IC could get damaged beyond repair.

I had to cut into the bumper also. I dont use the 5mph bar either. I had to cut about 1" all around the center opening and cut into the driver side vent hole some to get the pipe to not be pressing into the bumper cover. I actually like how it turns out as you can see my powdercoated piping better!

most people usually ditch that 5mph bumper when they install a FMIC. usually you hafta hack it so much that it's not going to do very much anyways. unless you need it to pass some kinda inspection or something

I retained my 5MPH bumper, cut it just like the picture above on a full size band saw!! I too had to cut some material out of the vent on the bumper to get it to fit right, but other than that it bolted right up no problem. Take a picture of the front of your car and take a picture of your piping off the car laying on the ground. We'll be able to tell you quickly whether you have the right stuff. Putting th Hahn FMIC should take 1/2 hour tops.

Bah, just leave the bumper support off.

The bumper cover fits a little better with the support in there, but this hasn't bothered me enough to deal with cutting most of it away to get it to fit.
