#73069, "when to the dyno and......"

i got to the dyno hooked the car up and she refused to boost. spend 5 hrs trying and came up with no good reason why she wouldn't do it. i had been boostin 5psi all week and even on the way down there, we check everything.
so i check what codes i was throwing and heres what i got, (P1297- injectors highsides shorted together???wtf does that mean. i have ford 30 lbers in there. next was P0108 map sensor input too high, so may my missing link is dirty??. then P0106 map check range i believe is what thats for and i dont understand that one. finally P0171 system too lean bank one.
i dont see how the car could have been hittin 5 psi for about a week and then not when i hit the dyno. the next thing is the car isn't running like shit aside from bad gas milage from being a little rich and the map sensor being picky sometimes. its just running like theres no turbo on it. it dyno 122.6hp with the turbo in the way of exhaust flow. so how do i fix this??

Yeah, your MAP is seeing positive manifold pressure (reduntant statement there. emoji)

Either your o2 sensor is kaput or (like me) if you have an A/F guage and can't wire for shit it's giving some loopy feedback to the ECU and shit starts to freak out.

ok my fuel set up is walboro 255 stock lines to the rail, 30 lb ford injectors 4an ss line to sfmu and 4an ss line back to the tank. i also have a safc 2 hooked up.
using the readings from my safc 2 i have never seen positive pressure in the manifold. but i could have the number of sensors set wrong on the safc.
and my blinky af guage is wired correct i took my time and re ran all of my wires the only one not hooked up is my oil pressure gauge. so does any one else have any ideas?? could my cat be causing some of these problems??

i'm spoolin but its not building if anything i'm gettin a pound or 2 but thats it, even at 7 grand. we disconnect my wastegate and did a pull but it still wouldn't build boost. we checked the turbo to make sure it wasn't blown and its fine. i don't know what else to check or do at this point.

Maybe a boost leak in your piping somewhere. Overly check your IC piping couplers and make sure you dong have cracks in your piping/holes in your IC. I know it sounds simple but ockham's razor say's other wise.

I agree, sounds like a boost leak is the problem. It wouldn't cause any of those CELs though.

Lets just say this... I'm over 100whp and soon to cross 200whp. Thanx 2GNT! Now if I could only learn to prove it.

yeah check all your couplers. one time i was driving around (6 psi) them bam down to 1 psi. i was like wtf. i checked every thing and could not figure it out. then i realized one of my ic pipes was disconnected. i hooked it back up and every thing was good.

i checked my pipes by sprayin them with starter fluid b/c in vac if there was a leak it would suck the fluid in and change the idle of the car. when i did that the idle didn't change i'm goin to build a boost leak tester to make sure tho. next how do i fix that injector code should i even been worried about it? and should i be worried about those other codes i know i'm always goin to have some but would these be affecting my performance or lack there of at this point?

P1297 is not injectors high side shorted together or whatever someone told you. It's no change in MAP voltage from start to run.

That being said, all the other codes point to your MAP sensor as well. If you have a ML it may need cleaning. It could be something to do with the SAFC if you have that hooked up to the MAP, or you could just need a new MAP sensor.

So after you left the dyno it still would not boost? I could see not being able to build boost on the dyno if it did not put enough load on the motor. emoji
