Sup guys. Haven't post anything in this part of forum for ages.
Well, I am very happy with my turbo and boosting around, and I feel it's running solid, and no problem, tuned well, so haven't been to this part for a while.

Lately I am more interested in making my car look better and stuff.

Anyway, one day on the highway I came across with this question which I know I asked before when I was building my custom turbo kit but just not asked and answered the way I needed.

For my wastegate, the signal line is hooked to the outlet of the intake of the turbocharger. (on the J-pipe) then the pipe will go to the FMIC, then to the intake manifold. and my boostgauge is hooked up from the Tee from the EGT vaccum signal.

So now I am curious, if on my guage at this temperature (at 80-90F) it shows boosting at 5PSI, am I really boosting at 5PSI? I konw FMIC/piping will make me lose around 2PSI, so is the gauge shows the BEFORE LOSE PSI, or the after final PSI?

coz, as all of us are, I want more boost, but then I want to run safe and can't afford to rebuild engine yet. so I want to keep it lower then 9PSI to be safe. like 7PSI. but in the winter time, coz of the boost creep, I sometimes can boost up to 7PSI, and now, it's only 5.5PSI.

anyway, so what exactly the boost gauge PSI is showing?
Thanks guys!
Gil

*EDIT* BTW, just an update on what I been doing lately to my car (I never stop remember) I am insulating my entire car with dynomat deepener. put in 100ft, just ordered another 100ft coming. I insulate floor, door, roof, trunk and EVERYTHING with 2-3 layers and foam solid all hallow frames. coz my Greddy EVO is too loud.

Sorry guys.... I typed that late last nite.. I guess I didn't see what I was typing before.. lol.

EGT... I meant EGR. the vaccum signal from the intake manifold to the EGR, and I TEE it off to my boost gauge.

Yes. I got the Greddy EVO 3.5" exhaust. I konw, it's the QUIETEST performance exhaust I have heard in my life. but still, I want my car to be QUIET. like wheel noise, road noise, wind noise, engine nosie, exhuast, etc. it is getting better, I am not done with the insulation yet thou. so I have convidence that it will get alot better. (like back to stock at least)

anyway, so is the 5PSI I am reading on the boost gauge the ACTUAL boost I am at?

Thanks again.
And sorry for the mistype before.
Gil

100% yes. Pressure in the intaker manifold is all that matters. Anything else you could T off would be incorrect if it is connected to something other than the intake manifold.

Thank you Darkone.

Yes Sorry_i_win. coz I read this online and learned this also from others, that the size of the exhaust is a great matter in gaining and losing high and low end engine power.
so I custom made from turbo to Cat of 2.5", then 3" Highflow Cat, then 3.5" Catback. very good (up to now)

About the Vaccum signal, there are 3 TEE out of the intake manifold at the back. One goes to the SFMU, one goes to the BOV, and the last go to EGR and Boost gauge. so this setup is good?

You guys, you know what? I think I am just paranoid, eveyrthing is going very smooth, but I just start ....wanting to make it better and more! lol.

Thanks again.
Gil

Is the Homedepot things are the same shit? like a can and a tube in the front, you spray it out, and it EXPAND and harden like FORM. what is it different?
Let me know. Thanks.
