okay, so today I spent the whole day hooking up my SFMU to the engine bay (I had aFMU near the tank) and installing my 30lb injectors. I took off the stock FPR and plugged the hole with a bolt and O-ring, so I could use the stock fuel filter. Then I ran some 3/8 rubbber fuel hose from the tank to the SFMU. Then time for the injectors. It went pretty smooth, just a lil paranoid that all that tugging on the harnesses would break a wire or something. Took off the schrader valve and hooked up the SFMU (2.72 with the dark spring). I screwed down the static screw all the way just so I wouldn't blow on a lean condition. I won't have a fuel pressure guage till tommorrow so I had to cap off the tee. I started her up and she hesitated, of course, then she growled. Whie noxious smoke came from the exhaust pipe. That usually happens during the warmup, but it lasted for awhile this time. I checked for leaks, none. Outstanding! I had my car on a lift and something weird happened...my wheels started slowly spinning..WTF! It was in neutral and they just started slowly spinning and would not stop..hmmm. I looked at the A/F gauge and it was reading on the rich side mostly, during the cylces. Idle was lumpy it wasn't dying just a lil high- either too rich or lean, can't tell w/o the FP gauge. Then my engine starts getting extremely hot, this is at idle. So I shut her down. Now for the drive home - The A/F was mostly on the rich side, it'd go green even before 1/2 throttle. I didn't boost any. My temp gauge was reading about normal. When I got home and opened the hood it was damn hot, the compressor was too hot to touch. Can running too rich make your engine run hot? I'll re-post when I get my FP gauge. thanks Alvin

Well I know that if you are very rich you can get afterburn which is fuel getting burned nt he mani cause there is way too much. That may casue everyhting to be higher...butI really think you need to get that FP gauge and then figure it out. Its a real bad idea to be driving w/o it.
EDIT: Oh yea.. dont have the screw all the way in...i read it can mess up the SFMU... I suggest to just get that gauge in first tho.

running rich will bring up the egt's too
lean it out some imo, just bring open the static hex adjuster on top of the SFMU until it almost dies, then slowly bring it up until the highest idle rpm is reached, then do about another half to a full turn, you should be good to go, at least till you get a gauge
also when my FP gauge broke i adjusted the fuel pressure to my real-time LTFT and STFT on my datalogger. once i got my fp gauge fixed it was only off by about 5psi! i was impressed....never leave home without your logger kids.
