Couldnt we use an oil pressure guage with sender as a fuel pressure gauge? the senders appear to be the same, and both GREDDY and DEFI sell their gauges as a Pressure gauge, not specific to either oil or fuel.

Can someone enlighten me as to why this wouldnt work? Most oil press guages go up to 100psi and some go up to 140psi. Cheap alternative if you dont mind the gauge having the oil symbol instead of the word fuel.

discuss amongst yourself!

That's an interesting question. The only thing I can think is that there might be a difference in materials used to withstand either fuel or oil. I would imagine fuel can certainly break down certain types of plastics/polyvinyl over time. Other than that I'm not sure - I would think pressure is pressure, whether it's fuel or oil.

haha.. that's the same thing i was gonna post, except i didn't.

is it mechanical or electric? if it's electric then just the sender unit will actually be getting touched by the fluid and I wouldn't think there would be anything in there the fuel could damage over time..

Definantly electrical. Thats why i wanted to do this, since the electrical oil press gauges are so much cheaper and easier to come by than the fuel press. Both the Greddy and the Defi gauges are electrical and the sensor numbers are the same. Im going to get one and try it. I will post back my results.
