has anyone used this to retart ignition timing with their turbo kits, i heard that our ecu advances our ignition timing like mad at high rpm's and was wondering if anyone's used this to retard the high speed ignition timing to prevent detonation.

im insterested in this too, because at the advice of a fellow 2gnt'er i have decided to go with timing retard as my first priority before boosting 10psi. so ill get the timing taken car of first, then the injectors and AFC will come second. here is the spec list from apex'i:

SUPER ITC
(IGNITION TIMING CONTROLLER)
Ignition timing controller
Simple 5-knob face; modifies timing curve from inside the vehicle
The Super ITC adjusts ignition timing by +/-15% by modifying the crank/cam angle signal on certain vehicles. The timing curve is adjusted by setting the timing at 5 different points along the RPM range and the values between are interpolated by the ITC from those 5 points. The Super ITC used in conjunction with the Super AFC fuel controller creates a new dimension of tuning with piggyback computers. A'PEX recommends having the Super ITC installed and tuned by authorized shops

is 15% enough adjustability, i know nothing about timing control so i would like to see an in depth answer to this Q as well if someone can help us out. is this enough to do it right or would we also need an MSD DIS2/Crane ignition and a new coil pack as well?

I have one, but I haven't installed it yet. I bought it from a guy who put in on a 2.4L 4g64 engine. I am still non turbo, so my plan was to advance timing and use higher octane gas.

The instructions I have are in Japanese, so they aren't much help (since my Japanese is a little rusty emoji ) I planned on doing the install after the shootout, it should just involve finding the right wires and wiring it in. If anyone has experience with one, I'd sure like to know how to do it.

thanks for info, i was wondering if this would work at all for our cars, does anyone know if the data that comes out of our crank and cam angle sensors is compatible with the itc, this unit is relatively cheap, and if it can retard ingition timing that would be great, i'm getting my turbo in october after my smog check and if we could use this it would be a great step for prevention of detonation. well hope someone has more info!
thanks!
