#72060, "just ordered howell's long rod kit and have some questions?"

i did some searching through the forum but no answer yet..i just ordered the long rod kit yesterday (8.6 compress-bore size 20 over)and was wondering is there anything special a machine shop has to do to it?or is it an easy install? my car runs fine.. i have 96 eclipse with hrc stage 2 w/fmic and i just want to up the boost..since i'm rebuilding i was also in the market for a new clutch and was wondering what u guys think a good clutch would be that won't break the bank..i was also looking at the phatom grip limited slip diff and was wondering if it was worth it? thanks for any help you guys can provide.

well... machine shop can do the boreing and the install or you can do the install. theres nothing special or different.

get a SPEC stage 3 clutch, i have and i like!!!

PG is good, again i have and i like! however some will say "maybe" on it for various reasons. its for sure a good alternative to a full quafe LSD.

And while your ordering from ERT, forget the pos phantom grip and get a retro-fit lsd instead.

unless of course a metal-to-metal lsd insert held together with shitty springs sounds like a good idea to you...

yeah exile racing does have the spec cheaper..should i go with a stage 4 or 5? its not that much more..or is it over kill? i was also thinking of the clutch master but don't know where a good place to get a good price for them. since i'm rebuilding what else should i get to help make the engine better and stronger?
