CAn someone help me and tell me why my car idles at 2000 when i am slowing down and sticks to 2000rpm until i make a complete stop when it finally drops to a little lower than 1000rpm. It does that and i cannot understand why. Is it a vacuum leak on my intake manifold,it was supposed to be changed but it wasnt. I already have an exhaust leak that is giving me problems b/c i can hear it loud and clear but cannot find it. Car boost gauge reads -14 when sitting still. Also, why when the car shuts off it makes a loud noise like a knife scraping metal for some reason. Please, i have been through so much with this car, it started doing this after i ran at the track, but i stopped after 2 runs do due having these problems.

dont know about the scraping noise..

my car does the same thing when i come to a stop, just not as bad. sits at 1400rpm till i make a stop. im also leaking from the exhaust manifold.. i think thats what the problem is. i really wouldn't worry about it, its not a big deal.

Thanks, i found out the scraping noise, it was my egr valve not hooked up to the vacuum and everytime the car shut off it would suck air real loud and that was the noise.
