Did all of you solder your AFC connections? What are some other ways of installing it? I have mines connected with but connectors but I'm a little worried about weather and vibration issues.
I used plastic quick connects to tap the wires (but its not even been a week yet). My AF gauge is connected the same way and its been there for a while without failure. I didn't use the PCM grounds (too many damn black wires). I grounded them to the chasis with no problems or codes.

Did you use the ones where you run the wire to be tapped into through a journal and then just add the other wire on the other side? I guess the one I'm talking about smashes down a metal connector over the wire insulation to make the connection. Am I right? because I was thinking about using that too. Damn, I wish I wasn't such a messy solderer.

I used tap-and-splice connectors, which I think is what Stan was referring to. They're a good, quick way to get the SAFC hook up initially, but the longevity of em isn't all that good. About a few months after having my SAFC hooked up the tap-and-splice connectors weren't making good connections to the point the SAFC would turn off and on often...loose connections of the ECU ground wire. Not good when running 440's and essentially having nothing to lean em out. I just replaced em with gator-clips though for the time being till I get around to soldering em. The gator-clipswork pretty awesome though. No more problems. If you do decide to get em, make sure to get the ones specifically for 18-22 gauge wires......
I soldered everything including the grounds but mine doesnt work yet. I have the brown wire closer to the ecu than the black one. THey are spaced a centimeter apart. Its getting voltage for sure but its not working. I need to mess with it more, I guess i'll try what STAN did and ground the wires on the chassis instead of tapping the ECU wire. Does anyone know why the instructions specifically say to ground on the ecu wire? I have not a clue>
Are you sure you have it wired correctly? If it's getting +12v and ground, it'll turn on when the key clicks over. If it's not coming on, it either isn't getting power, isn't getting ground, or you wired it wrong and fried it. Double check those colors.

Laugh if you will. I blew up my first SAFC by wiring it wrong. Instead of a .01-.99v sensor input, i accidentally connected it to a similar colored 12v source. It never came on, and if i stuck my nose on it after the key had been turned on, i could smell something burning. You can very easily fry it, if you're not careful.
Double check those colors.
