ok guys.... just did another fresh rebuild since december.... i had some issues with the first rebuild and well... we're still not sure what caused the crazy rod knock last time so.... i went away for the last 5 months and i had my friend do the install... we went with all new internals, crankshaft has been turned...now he's telling me that the car wont start at all... it cranks but will not turn over to run... now he's suggesting a crank-angle sensor... the only reason why he says that is because he's checked everything else.. theres fuel and theres spark, well i havent seen the car since dec, and i finally get to go out west tomorrow to work on it... any ideas on what the problem could be... btw, im building this motor to be turbo friendly so if any of you guys that have done the rebuild have any suggestions, please throw me a bone man!... i know it could really be anything but the reason why i asked is because the guy thats building and installing my motor has built crazy shit in the past and is pretty reputable in fresno ca. and he doesnt even know if this crank-angle will work

If its got spark, the crank angle sensor is fine.

ok... i just got in to town today... as soon as i got off the plane, i went right to work... ok so heres the scenerio... car cranks, doesnt turn over to run....
when i put the key in the ignition, no CEL at all... its supposed to flash or even turn on before starting. also, no spark. i mean i didnt get a chance to see if all cyclinders were firing but im pretty much leaning to that conclusion since i can smell gas when trying to start. i also bought an msd coil and wires since the rebuild and they were put on, could that have something to do with it? im gonna check the coilpack to see if the puter is sending it voltage. we check the puter harness first and got voltage so somewhere down the line theres an open loop..

ok...i really didnt get a chance to work on the damn thing cuz i towed the car to l.a. but i still have a few questions. before i even started to rebuild the car i remember installing an hks s-afr.. simular to the apexi s-afc, for fuel tuning reasons in the future when i put my turbo on. when i got inside the car today to get it towed, i noticed it was unplugged. would that have an affect on why my computer isnt alive and not starting the car? i know when i did the install, i had to cut into some primary tach wires from the computer to install the hks safr. i also remember looking in the box and seeing a seperate harness that pretty much loops everything back to stock (i guess you use it when you have the safr out)just a little plug that goes into the safr harness w/o the safr.. so with that in mind, would that cause the motor not to start? at this point i know that the puter is dead... not even a signal turns on, its supposed to turn the CEL when the key is in and on the on position, it doesnt even do that.... any ideas guys???????

charge your battery. and yes, if its a fuel editing program, then it will have sliced and cut into the map sensor wires. not sure if it would start w.out the map hooked up.
