#69718, "star kit question"

i owned a star stage 2 kit a little over a year ago, and i sold it cuz i moved out and i needed the money....

someone on the board posted a site www.diomondstarspecialties.com and they have a star stage 1 for $1900.

what do you guys think?? has anyone ordered from this place, does anyone actually have a stage 1 star kit?

how safe is this shit without an intercooler?

stage 2 is $2900... is this a good deal?

thats how much they cost normally. boosting without an intercooler is safe for no higher than 5psi. just pick up an 1g or 2g smic like im doing for 50 bucks or so and have a stage 2. that way you can up the boost a little and not have to worry about cooling.

5 psi is fine (I was nonintercooled for 8 months). Just make sure the waste gate spring is functioning properly and not rising beyond that.

I bougt mine form them too. Got the stage 1, then upgraded to greddy intercooler (with lots of fab work) and greddy BOV. I like their service, I had to wait 3 weeks though because I wanted the ball bearing option on the T3/T4. As far as I know, they have 2 T3/T4 turbos in stock. I would highly recomend them.
^^^^ you should call and find out what the deal is. What me to call for you?!

depends on the shop you take it too. it shouldnt be too hard for them to make it but cost depends on how much they charge for parts and labor.

I got the Stage 1, but before installing, upgraded to greddy parts. I would say that the kit came with plenty of parts. I have a few extras here and there.

my bad i didnt mean 5 weeks, i ment 7... i emailed them and the said they were waiting on the downpipe flange, and they might get it by the end of this week. so there is 5 weeks. then add 7 to 10 days for shipping, and there is your seven weeks. not happy at all...
