Im setting up my oil lines and I already screwed the Tee and all fittings using teflon tape. I know some of you say use paste instead, but oh well this was all that was sitting around. Anyways...I did it for the fuel lines too for my SFMU and I over torqued one of the fittings on the SS line, so I brought it back to where I got it (A big factory place that makes em) and they replaced it after dude gave me a lecture. Yea he lectured me lol, he was like DID YOU USE TAPE IN HERE? I was like yea..., was I suppose to use paste? YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO USE ANYTHING. THESE JIC/AN FITTINGS ARE MADE TO SEAL WITHIN THEMSELVES. IF YOU START USING TAPE YOUR REALLY GONNA MESS THINGS UP So I was like oh really...ok.

Yeah, flare type AN fittings seal by compression, and there is no need to use any teflon of any kind. If your AN fittings are leaking, then you need to tighten them down a bit more. They should never leak if tight enough. But, using tape or paste on these fittings wont hurt anything, as long as you didnt get any on the flare sealing surfaces, and just on the thread parts. Tape is always frowned upon, becaue of a chance that a piece of tape can get inside the line..but if used properly, that wont happen either. I have never really had good luck with paste, esp on oil NPT fittings, mostly on the oil sender block..always leaked..I then used black RTV on those threads, and its never leaked since..

I never use tape. Sending units rely on the threads to create a ground. If your oil pressure gauge (you DO have an oil pressure gauge, right?) shows 0 psi, it is possibly not getting a good ground. Tape blocks the ground, and paste will still allow for metal to metal contact.

Thanks guys! Yea I do have an oil pressure sender gauge lol.
What about connecting the -4AN ss braided hose fitting to the test port? Since its AN...dont use anything? But it is just screwing on the testport so??

Nope on the AN fitting to the test port question (don't use any teflon paste/tape). I did use anti-seize compond on the AN fitttings to not grind them metal to metal.
If I remember correctly from my turbo install, the only time I did use teflon paste was on the oil sending unit area (feedline to tee to the block assemply).

Only use teflon paste on pipe fittings that is it. Once the pipe fitting is tight leave it alone do not try and bottom it out. Never use teflon tape because it can break off and clog your fuel system.
