#68918, "Oil feed line for HRC kit ( small rant included )"

I need to get an oil feed line for my HRC kit. I called HRC toget a replacement on the 30th. Said that it would be sent out. Waited for it, waited for it....nothing.

Call them and they are like oh its on backorder ( story of my life ).
I was told that they would get some on the 12th. So I call them to check the status yesterday. Gonna be on backorder for "at least another week"

Does anyone know where I can get one other than HRC?
What size are the fittings/line?

Any help you can throw my way would be great.

Thanks
Jon

just get a 4an ss feed line. I forget the adapter sizes i think 3/8th. But if you search for the sizes you can find them. Make it yourself if there gonna have it on "backorder" then why buy from them.

Hey Jon,

This is what you'll need ... if you already have the feed line.

3/8" NPT Male Coupler (threads - hex nut center section - threads)
3/8" NPT Female Tee (takes 3/8" Male threads in threaded holes)
3/8" NPT Male to -4AN Male fitting

So what you do is (and remember to use teflon tape or paste on all NPT threads)

1. The 3/8" NPT Male Coupler goes in to 1 of the holes the 3/8" NPT Female Tee. Tighten it down.
2. Screw the stock Oil Sender unit into the opposite side of the tee that the coupler is in.
3. Screw the 3/8"NPT to -4AN fitting into the top of the tee.
4. Screw the whole assembly into the back of the block where the stock oil sender would be. The other half of the male couple will be screwed into the block.
5. Attach feed line.

If you have another oil pressure sender you'll need to find another fitting so that you have a place to put that sender on. I can take pics of my setup tonight when I get home if you'd like.

Owned by not reading carefully ... DOH! Jon, try calling any place that specializes in turbos. FP, roadrace, etc. They will probably have an oil feed line. Just tell them -4AN on both ends.

ya, hrc sucks for that. they said they would overnight me one. and i called two days later, and they didn ship it. so i went to the local machine shop, got 2 ss braided brake lines that have 90* fittings on the end of them, and added a 4an to 4 an male/male adapter to the middle. looks better then the hrc line, and fits just as good.

What kinda fittings did you use?

Did they mate to the 90* fitting on the turbo?

Thanks

Cool, thanks. In know that its not your fault, its the nature of business sometimes. I was just trying to get my car back on the road somehow while I was waiting for the real deal to come in.

It's on the back side of the motor closest to the drivers side, next to the trans. It's the only threaded oil line. The crank sensor is held in with a 10mm bolt, and the hole the sensor sits in is not threaded. The other sensor is a knock sensor and it just threads into the block, it does not go inside to the crank case.

This guy has good prices on oil feed lines if you need one. As far as the stock oil pressure switch...you really don't need it. All it does is work the idiot light. My idiot light came on about a half second before I spun a bearing which is pretty useless in my opinion. You'd be better off getting an actual oil pressure gauge.

Lets just say this... I'm over 100whp and soon to cross 200whp. Thanx 2GNT! Now if I could only learn to prove it.
