#68781, "PocketLOGGER help please"

I finally got my Walbro 255 installed and purchased a PocketLOGGER to finally help me tune a bit.

I hooked the logger up to my car and it would connect for a short amount of time. Maybe 30 secs or so, but then disconnect.

I know that I am supposed to run the byte test, but the logger does not stay connected long enough to complete the test.

Am I doing something wrong?

I know that each car is a bit different when it comes to the byte test, but is there some sort of figures that I can manually put in to get this thing to keep reading the ECU and not disconnect?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jon

I have found the following settings to work best with my 1996 Eclipse GS. I manually went in and set the byte timing as the test would provide results that are way to aggressive and cause the pocketlogger to disconnect. My settings provide for a 15 samples per second connection which is 1 sample slower than what the pocketlogger website has for our car. I rather give up one sample and have it constantly stay connected.

Inter-Byte Delay: 1650
Inter Packet Delay: 0

Hope this helps,
Kurt

Man, if I remember right, we had a hard time getting my pocketlogger to connect at last year's Shootout..don't know what the deal is..it works fine on my car..Also, if you are a 95, then you can't really get more than 5-6 samples a second with that ECU..have already tried it..I can get 14-15 samples on my 98 error free..RESET your byte timing, and don't really lower it any..see if that helps. Also, be sure the car is started, and in closed loop, before you try to connect..

My emails i sent to you bounced back....

As for the PocketLOGGER, are you getting any errors when you first start the byte timing test?

Didn't you have problems getting my pocketlogger to connect to your car at the SO last year? My Eclipse (99) usually connected at 17-18 bps, and the Evo is about the same.
