Hey, I'm new to the turbo world. Have a customer that has a 96' Eclipse non-turbo that has been turbo'd. He is trying to replace his stock FPR with a vortec FMU. My question is, simply put, how is he going to achieve this? I have some ideas as to what to do and I will list them now to see if I am on the right track:
1. add a return line to the schrader valve on the opposite end of the fuel rail. (don't know what type of connector to use on the threaded piece that the schrader valve is in, that's really what I need to know) 2. place the Vortec FMU in the newly added return line. (then what to do with the pre-existing return line coming from the stock FPR) 3. run manifold vacuum to the newly installed Vortec FMU.
And I do understand that this is not a SFMU so he needs to keep his stock FPR in the supply line to the fuel rail. any and all help is greatly appreciated, being as I am new.

With the FMU, you want to mount it back by the tank where the stock FPR is. Run the return line from the stock FPR to the IN side of the FMU, and the OUT side of the FMU to where the return line originally went on the tank. Then run a vacuum line from the intake manifold back to the FMU. If it was an SFMU you would use the test port to make a new return line, but you won't be doing that since the FMU piggybacks off of the stock FPR.
Lets just say this... I'm over 100whp and soon to cross 200whp. Thanx 2GNT! Now if I could only learn to prove it.

ideally, you'd want to run a return line and mount it in the front. Since the world isn't an ideal place, putting it in the back in the 6" or so of factory return line the 96 and up models provide works also.
For the record, -4AN threads onto the service port of a factory fuel rail.
