Hey jason, I am planning on getting the starion intercoler within a couple weeks. Can you fill me in on what I need to do to one if I get it. Don't I need to modify the end tanks? Also how was your piping done. And what was it done with. Also can you give me a rough estimate of how much your intercooler set up was?
Thanks,

Hey Jason, He has a 97 GS I wonder if he'll run into what we saw on mine at Route 66. Under the fuse box Jason had a plastic cover makong the circular hole for the wiring harnass to go through. We looked at my 97 RS and it was a metal plate welded in place. So maybe there is a posibility that you will have to have this cut for the intercooler pipes to run?

Has any one run into this or should I just stop typing now?

So from what I saw on those posts you bought the side mount intercooler piping from HRC? And used it for the front mount with some modified piping. Am I on the right track?

That's exactrly right. I bought a used set from MWC. Then used some additional piping to complete the extensions to the front mount intercooler.

One more question for you Jason. Did you have to cut the lower HRC piping because from the pictures I have seen of the lower pipe, it looks like it faces towards the left wheel. I am assuming that you had to cut it right before the bend so that the pipe opening faces down instead of towards the side. Am I correct? And also does the side mount piping come with the same flange for the BOV as the stage one ? Thanks a lot for your time answering these questions. I hope to be intercooled in a couple weeks!!!

Actually, no. I didn't cut any of the pipes at all. That lower pipe you're referring to, does in fact face towards the driver's side wheel. What I did here was cut a hole in the plastic mud guard as directed by the stage 2 HRC directions. Then with that pipe facing through the plastic hole, it was ready for the front mount intercooler piping extension.

You see....the front mount piping must go around the metal frame that surrounds the raditator anyhow, so that stage 2 sidemount piping doesn't have any wasted length as you might think.

Yes, it does! Exactly the same! (Now if we can convince Bill Hahn to sell JUST his 420a intercooler piping as he does for the 4g63 people, it would give everyone a lot of intercooler choices!...especially for the budget minded) emoji

Hope all that helps!
