#67547, "Does anyone know of a gauge that goes to like 150 PSI?"
Mar-24-04 09:59 AM by QC DSM ESiT

Okay so I am finally going to get some more guages other then the Boost guage in my car. Well after looking on Autometer's website I found that the gauge Hahn gives with their kit is a Z series Boost guage. I really like the way the Z series matches our factory gauges perfectly so I would like all my other guages to match that. So after looking at the Z series on the Autometer website I notice that both the fuel and oil pressure gauges only go up to 100PSI but I know that when I get an intercooler in I will need to go up to like 120PSI for fuel pressure. So does anyone know where I can get a fuel pressure gauge that goes to like 150PSI that looks kinda like the gauge in the picture? Also would 100PSI be a good range for Oil pressure?

No I mean a gauge that can go inside your car (electrical) thats the same size as the boost gauge that came with the HRC kit (not sure what size that is but it is the standard size of most gauge pods)

Hrc has the only mechanical FP gauge I've seen that goes over 100psi, and it is often inaccurate. It is not an autometer gauge.

Might try http://egauges.com

Might also want to get some 30# injectors so you dont have to even worry about ultra high fuel pressures. They cost less than the price of an electric gauge, and do a lot of good.

Well right now I am still on stock injectors and running 90PSI like it says in the HRC manual so I am okay with a fuel pressure gauge that goes to 100PSI. I was just thinkin ahead because I was lookin at the HRC manual and it says that the intercooled kit needs to be at like 120PSI but if you guys think I should just get a 100PSI gauge and then when I intercool it I should get bigger injectors then thats what I will do. So is that what you guys are saying?

bottom line, in theory you shouldn't be using stock injectors with a boosted application. fuel pressures are just way too high. spend the extra cash and get some 30# injectors or larger. been there, done that. trust me, it's definately worth it.

So I guess the next question is where could I get these 30# injectors the cheapest? Also when they are installed what PSI should I be running at idle and at WOT?

Poke around in the turbo forum search. It's quite a common setup but unfortunately the numbers escape me right now.

30 lb injects using a SFMU: run about 22 psi at idle, and for 7-8 psi, around 70-75 psi of fuel. I run the largest disk in the SFMU, and a few turns out on the bleed valve to lower the rise rate just a bit. I use this setup because the second to largest disk did not give quite enough fuel for my 13 psi. If you run only 7 or 8, the 2.72 disk will be fine.
