OK, I hae decided that my EIC is shot. Now: 1. do I get an e-manage to run the extra injectors and allow me to tune the primary injectors, clamp map voltage ect... 2. Buy another 034eic and swap it out and be done wiht it (Hopefully). 3. Try to figure out how to order the mega squirt and give that a try. I would just like to know what everyone thinks before I go and waste more money. I would love to go standalone but dont want to spend 2k doing it by the time I get all the sensors and injectors. I know armond is selling the gen6 dfi. would it be wort trying that? God I have to many ideas in my head and not enough funds lol. best time so far 14.3 @ 101.1mph(no traction) fastest 2GNT with a hitch! until proven wrong...

I say choice #2 and be done with it. But I'm not as familar with the e-manage. The 034 is a pretty nice unit, and for $220 of whatever...you can hardly beat that.

Well in reality although the 8 injector setup is a nice setup... it cannot give you a smooth transition from vacum to boost like a true standalone can... like the Gen6/7 or Megasquirt...
Quite simple really... you see the with a setup like the EIC as you transition to the point wen the EIC kicks in you cannot be totally smooth as it comes online, in as far as the amount of fuel in the intake will have a small step... not a smooth transition..
But truth be told you wont really notice much in everyday use...

Let me know how the mega squirt goes... Looks like a sweet unit but it seems like a pane in the ass just to order it. lol I will go standalone down the line when I get the money. DOnt like to be in debt. best time so far 14.3 @ 101.1mph(no traction) fastest 2GNT with a hitch! until proven wrong...

I think Megasquirt would probably be a good option for you right now. You can use it as a supplimentary controller right off the bat. If you feel like goin standalone with the fuel then it can handle that as well. Look for fully assembled units on ebay. I saw a fully assembled unit with the optional dash panel on there the other day for $200 with one day to go on the auction. Yeah the wiring'll be a little different from the 034, and the programming is a little different - but really not so different that its unrecognizable.

The ordering process is the only drawback as I see it... Having to source everything from here and there...
Although I got my kit complete from one source... so all I had to do was solder the biatch together...
Getting rained out here in Pa right now... so installing my turbo and firing up the Megasquirt will have to wait till Saturday.... woo hoo can't wait...
Although now my FMIC arrived today... hmmm to install it first or not...lol
