hey guys I just got a turbo today and I'm guessing it's a t3 but can anyone give me some more info on it. the compressor has an ar of .48 and the exhaust side is .51. My best guess is that it is a t3 but if I happen to be wrong let me know. the markings on it say m27 garrett. it also has a tag but doesn't list exact type.
didn't plan on going turbo this soon but if this sucker will work heck I'll start on my system. let me know what you think.

probably a small t3 from an old Saab or Volvo turbo 2.0 engine

could work on a 420a but don't expect massive gain , that turbo is bigger than a t-25 but not by much

I figured it was a small t3, it has the rectangle flange and all. I think it's oil cooled only. I figured it's probably off of a small diesel engine. Will this thing spool up pretty quick you think?

it's too big to be a diesel turbo, usually diesel are more in the .42 .32 range

if the turbo is in good condition, with no or very little shaft play and all the blades of the compressor look good it could be a candidate for a quick spooling stage 1 or 2 system

and you upgrade it later

I guess the next question is really do I start on a small turbo kit and get a little boost or do I go to ebay and sell it to a honda owner?
