#66650, "Hahn no longer doing Ball Bearings?"

I e-mailed HRC about a ball bearing S20G for my setup that I'm working on, and I got a reply back saying they didn't do anything along those lines...

...but Hahn was on here awhile back saying that they did. I'm confused, can someone lend me a hand here?

Straight from the source. So, any answers, maybe from the man himself should he happen to be around?

Thanks,

P.S. - I thought HTML use was enabled on this board? Ugh...

It does if you use the correct tags and close them properly....(ie < instead of <)[br />
Edit: and that thread is 3 years old emoji

Uh...I did? I've made a lot of webpages in the past 6 years, and those are the correct tags. I even pasted them into notepad, changed the extension to .htm, and it came up just fine. Care to elaborate?

And BTW, I know it's a thread from 3 years ago. I searched. It came up. Regardless, Bill still said they were making them, gave a pricing structure and everything, so they obviously did them at some time or were considering it so much so that they came up with a cost and so forth.

Oi, I swear, I'm about to agree with mototool and ask for a clue by four icon... emoji

off topic...

The board ignores html tags. If you want to do bold, italics,
or a href, use brackets.

[a href="www.foo.bar"]whatever[/a]

etc.

So yeah, your tags were wrong.

Just needed an actual explanation, thanks Dino. Sorry if I sounded like a dick, just didn't make sense at the time. And people saying it was news to them that Hahn ever talked of making ball bearing turbos, while telling others to use the search function in other threads was amusing to me ;p

Anyway, getting away from the quirks of the forums, does anyone know what happened? Did anyone actually get a ball bearing turbo from Hahn? I'm really curious, as I'd like to have the potential of an S20G but with a quicker spool up and it seemed like a perfect solution.

I said it would be 'news to me' if they did. I didn't say HRC never did. emoji

I remember when HRC made that post. As far as i know, they at one time offered it as an option. I imagine it didn't sell like they expected it to, so the quit selling them. *shrug*

it was a very long time ago, after all.

Okay, then what would be the equivalent of a ball bearing S20G (potential of an S20G with the quick spooling of a S16G or near it)?

S20g with juice... That, or con HRC into making one for you... OR, get out, and spin the compressor with your hands right before you launch. Its an old school techique only taught to true drag racers. Back then, turbos used to take up whole rooms. It was necessary to get out the old hand crank to manually spool the fugger. You might get that metal slug spinning a little bit quicker.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related.
Step 1: Put down everything in your hands.
Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it.
Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you.
If not. Go here: here

If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

The S16G and the S20G spool about the same anyway. They use the exact same hotside.
