This is Corsagsgo timeslip. I hosted the timeslip for him and I'll let him explain what his setup was. He was must have tuned it real well. Anyways congrats to him on the time and moderate mods.

15 psi w/ a S16G on stock internals is doable (very actually). Stock pistons just suck under detonation. I've known a few people that got away with it. One guy was pulling timing so the advance wouldn't hurt him. Took away from power but kept the engine from nuking. Another guy was using the TTI headgasket (basically double thickness head gasket) which dropped his compression down. Most people can't tune well enough not to blow crap up at 15psi. Detonation is what kills the piston/ring lands ... no detonation ...
Anyway, I'd like to see the mod list for the run if possible.

Good morning guys. Thanks for hosting the slip V.. as for the doubters, keep on if you wish but I have no reason to lie. I've been around a long time, and the car had less than 12,000 miles on it when I went turbo in early 2000. The runs were honestly made in 2001 against my company's slightly modded C5 for refference. At the time I was at stage 2 HRC, 30lb inj, cartech reg., 3" turbo back,and a C-16/94 oct mix. Boost was actually set from 12-14 psi with an occasional spike. Since then I've been built with JE's and Crower rods.. but now I've recently got a VT built motor going in with 9.25:1 pistons.. As for the tuning, I literally kept the craptech set as it were with stock injectors with the exception of turning down my idle pressure to roughly 30psi. Also, I will say that I've been to the shoot-out every year and met a couple of you.(Armond, Murix,VX100,and Shockeclipse)I think they will vouch for me being legit.
I hope this clears everything up... oh, and I'll say that the intention of this was not for bragging, but if you look into the General topic forums it was in response to a question asked.

15psi is very do-able on stock internals like thura was saying, skrilla was telling me about the dood with the thicker headgasket, thats a damn good idea....alcohol or another form of in cylinder intercooling would definately eliminate all detonation, you'd need to control spark though to order to make the most power out of that amount of boost, otherwise...its not really worth it. _________ 96 talon esi-t san clemente, ca

At the time I was at 10-12 psi for daily street. This lasted for over 20,000 miles, but I do not reccomend that everyone tries it..My motor was "fresh" when I started playing with it. Granted I used 2 egt probes, one on the #1 runner and another in the 3" downpipep placed 10" down stream from the flange. By keeping temps in the 1550 range up top and roughly 1310'S downstream.. (although pushing the envelope this covered 2 bases for accuracy)Other than that tuning like mentioned above was literaly the same as what HRC recomended for stock injectors, but I turned the idle pressure down to 27-30psi. I ran in the low 14 to mid 13 range like this several times. Take it for what it's worth, but know that it is better to go built.

yup, Nitto NT 450s all around back then... Since then I have run 12.88 with similar mph on the motor I built in 2002 with Je's, but now I'm adding a 2.2L with 9.25:1 comp CP's.
