#66137, "Nitrous Express Direct Port Questions"

This system is kinda new, so I am not sure anyone can help me out.
I wanted to get the direct port system, but was told that the intake manifold sits too high in the engine bay, and hood modifications would be needed or some shit like that. Does anyone know of a direct ported manifold available to buy anywhere? I'd rather not drill into it if I dont have to.
Any help would be great!

Actually, i would drill and tap your manifold. Underneath the top cylindrical part are 4 intake runners. This would be where you'd want to tap for the nitrous. Sounds fun, get us pics. =)

I've used the NX DP kit with the integrated fuel rail and accesories. It's kinda like NOS "nozzle" kits. It worked very well and I ran a 100 shot 90% of the time, 150 shot the other 10% without any problems. I was running a high-comp rebuild too, with the necessary supporting mods. I've sold mine though, I'm going turbo with a low comp engine.

There are prob 3 or 4 other guys running or have run a high DP shot, maybe one of them will help too.

well if you look at the above pic, notice that all the jets are on each runner on the manifold right before it gets to the head. there are wet kits, dry kits, and this one. this one is the best setup because the nitrous and fuel lines are directly shot to each cylinder equally. a wetkit and dry kit gets shot before the TB into the intake manifold, so as the nitrous goes into the manifold, the flow of it is now interrupted because it has to make it's way though all the runners so it's distrubuted inproperly but it's still effective. so direct shot is the way to go for the best power.

I don't know of any pre-drilled manifolds...if you don't feel comfortable doing it I say take your manifold and that pic to machine shop and have them do it. Any decent one would do it for a little bit of nothing...say like 20 bucks.

Since we are on the subject, something has been on my mind about direct port N2O...Do you have to really jet down the nozzels for DP injection? I mean lets say you want a 100hp...do you need four 25hp shot jets?

I dont think it really MATTERS much, the 4 injector setup is more for looks, imo. Then again, maybe by using 4 injectors, its dispersed better... emoji

Yeah, I'm not sure about NX Direct Port but NOS brand is a minimum of 100 shot. I hope you have a built engine.

Yes. The amount of Nitrous injected is directly proportional to how much power you can get from it. Here's a jet size guideline - http://www.diy-nitrous.fsnet.co.uk/Jet_Sizes_2.25.pdf

i have the nos brand direct port setup. it says its adjustable from 80hp. but you can't do it with just the jets you need a fpr ( to high of fuel pressure).
