#6560, "Can i build my bottom end before turboing my 420a?"

hey everyone, well i have a 99gs 420a eclipse, i was wondering if i could build my bottom end ( doing internals ) before adding a turbo?...
i know it may sound stupid, but building my bottom end as if i had turbo already?
If i did my internals 1st anything, bad or good etc of doing it 1st before turbo? and if i did my internals i would wait a while 6months to a year before addding the turbo, since i have to save again...
to me i rather have my intrernals done before turbo, so when i add the turbo i would not have such a big risk factor...
what internal mods would i do ?
piston rods etc? could you turbo guys let me know ? which exact parts to get and from were ?porting etc....
also i live in so cal any good shops besides rre that would know or work well on our 420a ?
thanks for your time guys

get the turbo and be safe with it so you don't need internals..like keep the boost down and make sure you don't run lean. There is no need to upgrade your internals to have a turbo. many on here are over 15000 miles turbo'd and no problems. second of all, to build your bottom end right for a turbo, you would have to lower your compression, to 8.8 or 8.5:1 which means without a turbo, you will have an even slower car. if you want to do things the right way, get the turbo, build your fuel system so that the turbo on there is safe, then do internals.

yeah, id say if you insist on running turbo only with built internals, wait till you can afford to do both cause your gonna be miserable with an even lower compression ratio. id just get the turbo like jason said and run low boost unti lyou can do the internals
