#65045, "Regarding BOV piping sizes..."

I just purchased all new IC piping (2.5") for my new FMIC. I was still gonna use my BOV and BOV pipe from my last setup which is only 2.0". I was curious if a big difference will be lost if I use a 2.0" pipe along with the 2.5" pipes. I dont want to get a new flange attached to the 2.5" pipe, but would it be worth it? TIA.

2.5" seems to be a bit overkill as for the piping size, unless you are planning on making over 400+HP. 2.25" is all you really need for a FMIC, and HRC uses this size and has made plenty of power with it. I would use all 2.25" piping, and use the right size flange/pipe for your BOV, which prob means you will have to redo that part..its really no big deal to have it welded on, or whatever.

Its a common debate as far as size goes...some think bigger is better...period...others don't.

I debated once with a knowledgable guy who claimed, "If you could fit a 6in" pipe, that would be the way to go - bigger is better."...then others that believe the smaller diameter will enhance velocity etc etc...

My setup has 2" and 2.25" before the IC, then after the IC 2" for a little, then to 2.25" then opens up to 2.5" before the throttle body.

If I were you i'd keep it all the same and have a flage welded to the 2.5" pipe....but I doubt the difference will be noticeable at all either way.
